Mother Teresa

Mother Teresa was an Albanian nun who dedicated her life to serving the sick and the poor. She was born on August 26, 1910, in Skopje, Macedonia. At the age of 18, she joined the Sisters of Loreto and came to India as a missionary. In 1948, she started the Missionaries of Charity, an organization that cared for the sick, the homeless, and the dying. Mother Teresa became a symbol of compassion and love for the poorest of the poor. Throughout her life, she received numerous awards, including the Nobel Peace Prize in 1979. She died on September 5, 1997, at the age of 87. Her life and legacy inspired millions of people around the world to help those in need and to work for peace and social justice. Today, Mother Teresa is remembered as a saint and a humanitarian who devoted her life to serving the most vulnerable members of society.
