Criteria 10 Points
The essay uses textual evidence to answer the question, Who was ultimately to blame for the death of Gregor? Student effectively uses direct quotes and examples from the text to support their argument.
The Essay is thesis-driven, and the thesis is made up of a claim, 3 reasons, and a counterclaim. Thesis statement clearly presents the claim, three supporting reasons, and acknowledges the opposing viewpoint.
The essay synthesizes the textual evidence to support the claim Student effectively integrates quotes and examples from the text to develop and support their argument.
The essay includes an introduction paragraph, and conclusion paragraph, and 3 body paragraphs, one for each reason given in the thesis. Essay is well-organized with clear introduction, body paragraphs each addressing a specific reason, and a conclusion that summarizes the argument.
Style and sophistication. Writing demonstrates sophistication in language use, sentence structure, and overall presentation.
