The history of the world according to cats
This lesson discusses the domestication of cats, tracing their relationship with humans from the Neolithic era in the Fezzan region of Libya to their current status as pets today. It explains how cats were used to help control pests in storage pits and silos, and how they were revered by Egyptian culture, as well as how they were later adopted by seafarers in the Middle Ages and eventually transported to the Americas and Australia.
