The Hubble Telescope took a risk in directing its focus towards a dark area near the Big Dipper, but the result was a spectacular image of over 1,500 distinct galaxies in just a small sliver of the universe. The Deep Field images captured by the Hubble Telescope allow scientists to study the ancient universe and observe galaxies that existed over 13 billion years ago, revealing the homogeneity of the universe on a vast scale.
