My First Time Flying on an Airplane!

In this lesson, we prepare for an exciting airplane journey to the Robot Hall of Fame in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, alongside my friend Squeaks. We discuss what to expect at the airport, including waiting in lines and finding our gate, as well as the experience of flying, such as takeoff, turbulence, and landing, ensuring that first-time flyers feel comfortable and informed about the adventure ahead.
How Do Submarines Work?

In this lesson, we explored how submarines operate, focusing on the concepts of density and buoyancy. Submarines can float on water or dive underwater by adjusting their ballast tanks: filling them with water increases their density to sink, while expelling water allows them to surface. Additionally, we learned about the importance of submarines in ocean exploration and the safety measures that keep their occupants secure while underwater.
What Are Waves?

In today’s lesson, Squeaks and I explored the fascinating world of waves, learning about their formation, structure, and the role of wind and the Moon in creating them. We discovered that waves are the up-and-down movements in water, with features like crests and troughs, and we also discussed the dangers of large waves, such as tsunamis. Through our beach adventure, we emphasized the importance of waves in shaping our shores and the exciting discoveries they bring.
Why Does the Moon Change?

The lesson explains that the moon appears to change shape due to the varying angles from which we view its illuminated side as it orbits Earth. This phenomenon is known as the phases of the moon, which include eight distinct stages, from the New Moon to the Full Moon and back. By observing these phases, we can track the moon’s cycle, which takes about a month to complete.
Amazing Snakes!

In this lesson, students engage in a fun True or False game about snakes, learning fascinating facts about these reptiles. They discover that snakes are not slimy or squishy, do not typically attack people, and play a crucial role in maintaining ecological balance by controlling pest populations. The lesson emphasizes the importance of understanding and respecting snakes in their natural habitat.

In this lesson, students explore the globe as a model of Earth, learning about the distribution of land and water. They discover the seven continents and five major oceans, understanding that over 70% of the planet is covered in water. The lesson encourages students to think about their own location on the globe and the diverse features of our world, inviting curiosity about various aspects of the planet.
Antarctica: The Coldest Place on Earth!

In this lesson, students explore Antarctica, the coldest place on Earth, located at the South Pole and covered in ice and snow year-round. The lesson explains why Antarctica is so cold, its classification as a desert despite its ice cover, and highlights the unique wildlife that inhabits the region, including various seals and penguins, while clarifying that polar bears live in the Arctic, not Antarctica.
