Let’s Go on an Adventure with ABC 23 and Me!

Hey there, friends! Are you ready to go on a fun adventure with ABC 23 and Me? There are so many exciting places and people to see! We can explore and learn new things every day. Let’s get ready to travel and discover the world together!

Discovering Big Holes Called Canyons

Today, our teacher told us something really funny! She talked about a giant hole in the ground that’s so big, our whole school and town could fit inside it. Wow, that’s huge! Let’s find out more about these big holes.

They’re called canyons, and they’re found all over the world. The biggest canyon in America is called the Grand Canyon, and it’s in a place called Arizona. I really want to see it!

The Amazing Grand Canyon

The Grand Canyon is more than 1 mile deep! That’s really, really deep. Would you like to come on an adventure to see it with me?

ABC says, “Of course I do!” But ABC is busy trying out some new paints and brushes. ABC has a surprise for us when we return. I wonder what it could be!

Finding the Grand Canyon

Let’s look for a sign that says “Grand Canyon.” Can you help me spell it? G-R-A-N-D C-A-N-Y-O-N. Great job! There it is, the Grand Canyon!

Thanks for coming on this adventure with me. We learned so much and had lots of fun. I can’t wait to see what ABC’s surprise is when we get back!

  • Have you ever seen a big hole or canyon in real life or in pictures? What did it look like, and how did it make you feel?
  • If you could go on an adventure to the Grand Canyon, what would you like to do there? Would you want to explore, paint, or something else?
  • ABC has a surprise for us when we return. What kind of surprise do you think ABC might have? Have you ever had a surprise waiting for you after an adventure?
  1. Build Your Own Canyon: Gather some sand or soil in a large tray or box. Use your hands or small tools to dig and create your own canyon. As you dig, think about how water and wind might have helped shape real canyons over many years. Once your canyon is ready, use toy figures or small objects to explore it. Imagine what it would be like to walk through a real canyon!

  2. Draw and Paint the Grand Canyon: Just like ABC is trying out new paints, you can create your own artwork of the Grand Canyon. Use crayons, markers, or paints to draw what you think the Grand Canyon looks like. Remember, it’s very deep and has lots of different colors. Share your artwork with your friends and talk about what makes the Grand Canyon special.

  3. Spot the Canyons: Next time you go for a walk or a drive with your family, look out for small canyons or deep ditches in your neighborhood or nearby parks. They might not be as big as the Grand Canyon, but they can still be interesting to explore. Talk about how they might have formed and what animals or plants might live there.

Here’s a sanitized version of the provided YouTube transcript:

ABCMouse: Hey everybody, let’s go with ABC 23 and Me! There are endless people and places to see. From the classroom, they can search and explore. With every adventure, they learn more. They visit countries near and far, and they love to learn wherever they are. They see the world in a brand new way and make great new friends every day. ABC 23 and Me, come along and you will see! The more they travel, the more they know. Get ready, let’s go!

This is so funny! What do you see, ABC? I think the teacher is playing a joke on the class. She’s telling them about a hole in the ground that is so big that our school and even our entire town could fit in it. Oh my goodness! Let’s search it! It says that there are giant holes in the ground all over the world. Wait, here it is! They’re called canyons. Ooh, and the biggest canyon in America is in the state of Arizona, and it’s called the Grand Canyon. Oh, I want to see it!

ABC: It’s more than 1 mile deep!

Oh, I have to see it! Do you want to come on an adventure with me?

ABC: Well, of course I do!

Great! But I can’t right now. I’m trying out these new paints and brushes that I just got. I’ll have a surprise when you return.

Oh, a surprise! What is it?

ABC: Well, it won’t be a surprise if I tell you.

Okay, let’s go look for a sign that reads “Grand Canyon.” Great, I’m watching! There it is: G-R-A-N-D C-A-N-Y-O-N, Grand Canyon!
