Hello, my reading friends! Are you ready for a fun story? Today, we’re going to read about Pete the Cat and his cool new school shoes. Let’s see what adventures Pete has at school!
Here comes Pete, walking down the street in his bright red shoes. He’s going to school and singing a happy song: “I’m rocking in my school shoes!” Can you sing along with Pete?
Pete is in his classroom when the teacher says, “Let’s go to a room with books on every wall.” Do you know what room that is? It’s the library! Pete has never been there before, but he doesn’t worry. He finds a book he likes and sings: “I’m reading in my school shoes!”
Now, Pete is in a big, noisy room with lots of tables. Can you guess where he is? That’s right, the lunchroom! Even though it’s busy, Pete isn’t worried. He sits with his friends and sings: “I’m eating in my school shoes!”
After lunch, Pete and his friends go outside to a place with swings and slides. Do you know where they are? It’s the playground! Pete loves to play and sings: “I’m playing in my school shoes!”
All day long, Pete does many fun things. He sings: “I’m singing in my school shoes,” “I’m painting in my school shoes,” and “I’m adding in my school shoes.” Pete is having a great day!
When school is over, Pete rides the bus home. His mom asks, “What did you do at school today?” Pete smiles and says, “I was rocking in my school shoes!”
Did you have fun with Pete today? I hope you enjoyed the story. See you next time for more adventures!
Shoe Adventure Walk: Just like Pete, let’s go on an adventure walk in our school shoes! Take a walk around your classroom or school and notice all the different places you can go. Can you find a place where you can read, eat, or play? Share with your friends what you like to do in each place, just like Pete does in the story.
Create Your Own Adventure Song: Pete loves to sing about what he’s doing in his school shoes. Can you make up your own song about something fun you do at school? Think about your favorite activity and create a little song about it. You can use the tune of “I’m rocking in my school shoes” and change the words to fit your activity. Sing it to your friends and see if they can guess what you’re singing about!
Shoe Art Project: Let’s get creative! Draw a picture of Pete’s school shoes and decorate them with your favorite colors and patterns. Then, think about what special shoes you would wear for different activities. Would you have painting shoes, reading shoes, or playing shoes? Draw your own special shoes and share your artwork with the class.
Sure! Here’s a sanitized version of the transcript:
