???? Kids Read Along: THE SCARIEST BOOK IN THE WHOLE ENTIRE WORLD by Joey Acker

Welcome, Little Readers!

Hello, my fun-loving reading friends! It’s Anie. I’m so happy we get to read together. Are you ready for a spooky story?

Meet Nameless: The Unfortunate Rock

Our friend Nameless, who is a rock, finds himself in a book he doesn’t want to be in. Will he be brave enough to make it to the end? Will you be brave enough to read along? And is there really a unicorn in this book? Let’s find out as we read “The Scariest Book in the Whole Entire World” by Joey Acker!

Why Is This Book So Scary?

Oh no! Nameless is trapped in the book, and he wants you to turn back. But if you’re brave, let’s see why this book is so scary!

Reason 1: Scary Surprises

Nameless doesn’t like being scared or surprised. He doesn’t like scary books either. That’s three reasons already!

Reason 2: Ghosts!

Nameless heard there might be a ghost in the book. He doesn’t like ghosts at all! But maybe we should whisper so we don’t wake any ghosts.

Reason 3: Spiders

Spiders are super creepy to Nameless. Do you think they’re scary too?

Reason 4: The Dark

Nameless is afraid of the dark. But wait, maybe it’s not so bad after all. He’s braver than he thought!

Reason 5: Clowns

Suddenly, a clown named Bobo appears! Bobo says he’s here to help Nameless. Phew!

Reason 6: The Beast

Bobo tells Nameless about a beast with a scary horn. It eats spiders for breakfast and ghosts for lunch. What about dinner? Rocks! Oh no, Nameless is a rock!

Reason 7: Locked In!

Bobo locks the door, and Nameless can’t get out. What is that awful smell? Is it the beast or the ghosts? Nameless needs help!

The End of the Adventure

Wow! Nameless made it to the end, and so did you! I hope you enjoyed our spooky story today. See you next time for more fun reading adventures!

  • What was your favorite part of the story about Nameless, the rock? Why did you like it?
  • Have you ever been scared of something like Nameless was in the book? How did you feel, and what did you do to feel better?
  • If you could help Nameless feel less scared, what would you do or say to make him feel brave?
  1. Create Your Own Scary Story: Use your imagination to create your own scary story. Think about what makes a story scary for you. Is it ghosts, spiders, or something else? Draw pictures to go along with your story and share it with your friends or family. This will help you understand how different elements can make a story exciting and spooky.

  2. Bravery Badge: Just like Nameless, think about something that scares you. It could be the dark, a loud noise, or even a big dog. Draw a picture of it and then draw yourself being brave next to it. Share your bravery story with your class or family. This activity helps you learn how to face your fears just like Nameless did in the book.

  3. Scary Sound Hunt: Go on a sound hunt around your house or school. Listen for sounds that might be a little spooky, like creaking doors or wind blowing. Make a list of the sounds you hear and think about how they could be used in a scary story. This will help you understand how sounds can make a story feel more real and exciting.

“The Scariest Book in the Whole Entire World” by Joey Aker.

Hooray! Not! Are you kidding me? Why do you want to read the scariest book in the whole entire world? I am trapped in here, but you can turn back now. Also, if you close this book, I won’t have to go through the horrors again.

Rats and cheese! I thought you left. Fine, if you really want to know why this is the scariest book in the whole entire world, I’ll tell you.

Reason number one: I do not like to be scared, I do not like surprises, and I do not like scary books. That’s three reasons! Just go with it.

Reason number two: I heard there was a ghost in this book. Guess what? I do not like ghosts. Oops! I probably shouldn’t be yelling in a book full of scary things.

But do you know what really scares me?

[Music]

Reason number three: spiders. Nope! Okay, what was next? Ah yes, reason number four: I’m afraid of the dark. Wait for it… Hey, that wasn’t so bad! I guess I’m braver than I thought.

Hello? Well, that’s creepy and random. Let me guess, reason number five: clowns.

Dude, I can totally see you! My name is Bobo, and I’m here to help you. Yep, I found the light for you, and I’m supposed to give you reason number six: the beast.

I don’t remember any beast in this book. Oh yeah, it’s big, stinky, mean, has a scary horn on its head, and I heard it eats spiders for breakfast and ghosts for lunch. What does it eat for dinner? Rocks! I’m a rock!

Wait, where are you going? Sorry, BR, I’m not sticking around in this book. Bobo out!

Reason number seven: Bobo locked the door. How am I going to get out of here? And what is that awful smell? The stinky beast? The ghosts? Seriously, help me!

[Music]

Bobo! Wow! I don’t think there’s anything scarier than a ghost and a stinky beast, except for maybe a stinky…

[Laughter]

Well, he made it to the end, and so did you! I hope you enjoyed our story today. See you next time!
