  • Have you ever tried taking belly breaths like in “The Bubble Book”? How did it make you feel? Can you think of a time when belly breaths might help you feel calm?
  • Imagine you could make a bubble as big as you wanted. What would you like to see inside your bubble? Why would you choose those things?
  • When you blow bubbles, do you notice how they float and move? Can you think of other things in nature that move in a similar way? What do you like about watching them?
  1. Bubble Breathing Adventure: Let’s go on a bubble breathing adventure! Find a small bottle of bubble solution and a bubble wand. Go outside with an adult and try using your belly breaths to blow bubbles. Notice how the bubbles get bigger with each breath. Can you make a really big bubble? How does it feel to use your belly breaths to blow bubbles?

  2. Belly Breaths and Colors: Let’s use our imagination! Close your eyes and take a deep belly breath. As you breathe in, imagine your favorite color filling up your belly. When you breathe out, imagine blowing that color out into the air like a bubble. What color did you choose? How did it feel to imagine your breath as a colorful bubble?

  3. Calm Down Corner: Create a special calm down corner at home. Find a cozy spot with a soft pillow or blanket. Practice taking belly breaths in your calm down corner whenever you feel upset or need a break. How does taking belly breaths in your special spot make you feel? Can you teach someone else how to use belly breaths to feel calm?
