Hello, friends! We’re so happy you’re here for Story Time with Ryan and Craig. Today, we’re going to read a fun book called “Llama Llama Red Pajama” by Anna Dewdney. Are you ready? Let’s begin!
In this story, there’s a little llama wearing red pajamas. He loves to read a bedtime story with his mama. After the story, Mama Llama gives him a sweet kiss on his head and goes downstairs.
But wait! Llama Llama starts to feel a little lonely without his mama. He decides he needs a drink of water. So, he calls out to his mama, “Mama, can I have a drink, please?”
Llama Llama waits and waits, but he doesn’t see his mama coming. He calls again, “Mama, where are you? I need a drink!”
Do you think Mama Llama will come back to help her little llama? Let’s keep reading to find out!
This story teaches us about being patient and how sometimes we have to wait for help. It also shows us how much Mama Llama loves her baby llama, just like our parents love us!
After reading, you can draw a picture of Llama Llama in his red pajamas. What do you think he looks like? Use your imagination and have fun!
Thanks for joining us for Story Time. We hope you enjoyed the story. See you next time!
Patience Practice: Let’s play a waiting game! Find a partner, like a friend or a family member. One person will hold a small toy or a favorite object. The other person will close their eyes and count to 10 slowly. When they open their eyes, the person with the toy will hand it over. Talk about how it felt to wait and how it felt to give the toy. Did it feel like a long time? Was it hard to wait?
Love and Care Hunt: Go on a “Love and Care” hunt around your home. Look for things that show how your family takes care of you, like a cozy blanket, a favorite snack, or a bedtime storybook. Draw a picture of one of these things and share why it makes you feel loved and cared for, just like Llama Llama feels with his mama.
Story Time Role Play: Pretend you are Llama Llama and someone else is Mama Llama. Act out the story where you ask for a drink of water. How does it feel to wait for Mama Llama? Then switch roles. This will help you understand how both Llama Llama and Mama Llama feel in the story.
Sure! Here’s a sanitized version of the transcript:
