Children’s Animal Sounds

Guess what? The zookeeper heard children making animal sounds too! They were growling like a polar bear, roaring like a lion, and even trumpeting like an elephant. How fun!

Goodbye for Now!

Thank you for joining us for story time! We hope you had fun listening to all the animal sounds. See you next time for more adventures!

  1. What is your favorite animal sound from the story, and why do you like it? Can you try making that sound?
  2. Have you ever been to a zoo or seen any of these animals in real life? What was it like, and which animal did you find the most interesting?
  3. If you could be any animal from the story for a day, which one would you choose and what would you do? Why?
  1. Animal Sound Match: Gather a set of animal toys or pictures that match the animals from the story. Play a recording of different animal sounds and ask the children to match the sound to the correct animal toy or picture. Encourage them to make the sounds themselves and discuss what they think each animal might be doing when it makes its sound.

  2. Create Your Own Animal Story: Provide the children with paper and crayons. Ask them to draw their favorite animal from the story and imagine a new adventure for it. Encourage them to think about what other animals their chosen animal might meet and what sounds they would hear. Have them share their stories with the class, practicing their storytelling and creativity.

  3. Sound Safari Walk: Take the children on a short walk around the school or playground. Ask them to close their eyes and listen carefully to the sounds around them. Have them identify and mimic the sounds they hear, such as birds chirping, leaves rustling, or cars passing by. Discuss how these sounds are similar to or different from the animal sounds in the story.
