Hello, friends! Today, we’re going to have so much fun in Awnie’s Kitchen. We have three special helpers who will join us to make a yummy treat for Valentine’s Day. Are you ready? Let’s make some Chocolate Heart Pretzels!
First, we need to make sure everyone has clean hands. All set? Great! Now, let’s start by putting some pretzels on a lined cookie sheet. Look at that happy pretzel! Isn’t it cute?
Next, we need to melt some chocolate. We have chocolate wafers and white chocolate wafers in plastic bags. We’ll put them in the microwave for 30 seconds. This will make them nice and melty, perfect for drizzling!
Who wants to taste a chocolate wafer? Yum! Everyone gets one. Are they delicious? Now, let’s get to the fun part!
Our white chocolate is melted, so we’ll snip a little hole in the bag to drizzle it over the pretzels. Let’s take turns! Lil goes first, then Callie, and then it’s your turn. Wow, look at those fancy designs!
Now, let’s put a heart candy in the middle of each pretzel. They look so pretty with the red hearts!
Time to melt the chocolate wafers again. Sometimes, we need to microwave them a few times because every microwave is different. Blake will help us cut the tip of the bag. Great job, everyone!
Let’s drizzle some more chocolate. It looks so yummy! And there you have it, our Chocolate Heart Pretzels are all done!
Who wants to taste these delicious pretzels? We hope you had a blast cooking with us today. See you next time!
Now, it’s time for some special shout-outs to our friends:
Hello to all our wonderful friends! We hope you enjoyed cooking with us today. See you next time!
Chocolate Experiment: At home, try melting different types of chocolate like milk, dark, and white chocolate. Observe how each type melts and discuss with an adult why some chocolates melt faster than others. What happens if you leave the chocolate in the microwave for too long? Remember to always have an adult help you with this activity!
Pretzel Patterns: Use pretzels and small candies to create different patterns and shapes on a plate. Can you make a heart, a star, or even your initials? Take a picture of your designs and share them with your family. Discuss how patterns are used in art and nature.
Observation Walk: Go on a walk around your neighborhood or a park with an adult. Look for patterns in nature, like the way leaves grow on a tree or the shapes of flowers. Draw or describe what you see. How are these patterns similar to the designs you made with your pretzels?
Sure! Hereβs a sanitized version of the YouTube transcript:

Hello, reading friends, and welcome to Ani’s Kitchen! Today, I’ve got three cute helpers that are going to help me make a great Valentine treat.
Okay, everybody got clean hands?
Alright, what are we making? Chocolate heart pretzels!
Let’s get started! [Music]
We’re going to start with a lined cookie sheet.
Okay, guys, we’re going to put the pretzels on. Good job! I got a happy one! Oh my gosh, it is a happy one! [Music]
We’re doing the pattern. I like it!
Okay, we’ve got our pretzels on the tray all ready to go. In plastic bags, we put some chocolate melting wafers and some white chocolate melting wafers, and we’re going to put them in the microwave for 30 seconds so they’re just right and ready to drizzle.
Okay, who wants to taste the chocolate wafer?
Okay, one for you, one for you, and one for you. Are they good?
Okay, let’s do this! Our white chocolate chips are melted, and we’re going to clip the bag so we have a little hole that we can drizzle out of.
And we’re going to put a clip on.
Okay, good job! Push it hard. Good!
Okay, we’re going to let Lil start first. Oh yeah, nice job!
Okay, now let’s give it to Callie to do one. Nice!
Okay, let’s play a turn. Fancy! I like your creativity!
Alright, then we’re going to take a heart and put one in the middle of our pretzels and then one because the reds are hearts. Nice!
Oh, that looks so good, guys! Beautiful!
Alright, let’s melt the chocolate.
Now we’ve got our chocolate wafers melted, and Blake is going to cut the tip for us. We actually had to melt it a couple of times; every microwave is different, so you might need to put it in two or three times at 30 seconds.
Alright, in our clip, Kelly’s going to do our clip. That’s melted really well.
Okay, put the clip up here, Kelly. Up here! Higher! Higher! A little higher! [Music]
Oh, that looks so good! Okay, will you do a chocolate one? [Music]
I love it so much!
Okay, nice!
And here are our finished chocolate heart pretzels!
Alright, guys, you want to take a taste? Let’s see how good they are!
We hope you had fun cooking with us today. See you next time!
