Hello, my joyful reading friends! It’s Annie. I’m so happy you’re here to read with me. Are you ready for a fun Christmas story?
Let’s imagine something: What do you think would happen if Santa got sick on Christmas Eve? Do you think he would call someone to help him? Let’s find out as we read “Pete the Cat Saves Christmas.” If you have the book, you can read along with me!
The story “Pete the Cat Saves Christmas” was created and illustrated by James Dean, and the story was written by Eric Litwin.
It was the day before Christmas, and Santa wasn’t feeling well. The cold winter wind gave him a bad chill. Oh no! Will Christmas be canceled? Will it come to that? Never! Santa shouted.
Santa called Pete the Cat to help. He asked Pete to deliver the toys to all the good girls and boys. “I’ll do it,” said Pete. “Even though I am small, at Christmas we give, so I’ll give it my all!”
Isn’t Pete the Cat brave and kind? He shows us that even if we’re small, we can do big things when we help others. Just like Pete, we can all be helpers and make Christmas special for everyone!
Thank you for reading with me. I hope you enjoyed the story and learned something new. Remember, you can always be a helper, just like Pete the Cat!
Helper’s Hat Craft: Create your own “Helper’s Hat” just like Pete the Cat! Use construction paper, markers, and stickers to design a special hat that you can wear when you’re helping others. Once your hat is ready, think of one small way you can help someone today, like tidying up your toys or helping a friend.
Role-Playing Adventure: Pretend to be Pete the Cat and act out delivering presents. Use small boxes or toys as gifts and practice giving them to your friends or family. Discuss how it feels to give and help others, and talk about why Pete the Cat was a hero in the story.
Observation Walk: Go on a walk with a grown-up and look for people who are helping others in your community. It could be someone holding a door open, picking up litter, or sharing a smile. Talk about what you see and how these small acts of kindness make a big difference, just like Pete the Cat’s actions in the story.
