???? Your Christmas Adventure with Dory and Randy

Hello, my wonderful reading friends! I’m Annie, and I’m so happy you’re here to read with me. Today, we’re going to meet Dory the elf and her best friend, Randy the reindeer. Let’s see if they can help Santa deliver toys on Christmas! Are you ready for “Your Christmas Adventure with Dory and Randy”? Let’s go!

Meet Dory and Randy

Christmas Eve was almost here, and everyone at the North Pole was busy helping Santa. Dory, a kind little elf, was one of Santa’s favorites because she always tried her best. Her friend Randy, a playful reindeer, loved to hide toys and munch on wrapping paper. Even though Randy was a bit naughty, Dory loved him and gave him yummy carrots.

Randy’s Wish

Every year, the elves picked reindeer to guide Santa’s sleigh. Santa sprinkled Stardust on them so they could fly. Randy always wanted to be chosen, but he was too little and not very helpful. Dory always cheered him up with carrots and kind words, saying, “I believe in you, Randy!”

A Special Delivery

One day, Santa gave Dory a box of toys. “These are for someone special,” he said. Dory promised to get them ready for Christmas. Randy was curious and asked, “Where are you going with those toys?” Dory replied, “To the gift-wrapping factory. When I get back, we can have a snowball fight!”

Lost in the Snow

After wrapping the gifts, Dory headed back to Santa’s workshop. But the snow fell so hard she couldn’t see! “Oh no,” she said, “I’m lost!” Randy, worried about his friend, went to find her. He followed her footsteps and found her in a cave. “Randy, you found me!” Dory said happily. They snuggled together to stay warm.

A Magical Journey

The next day, the Northern Lights shone brightly. Dory was worried about delivering the presents. As she cried, the lights surrounded them and lifted them into the sky. When they opened their eyes, they were at Ani’s reading friend’s house!

Christmas Fun

Dory and Randy used magic to become small and hid behind the Christmas tree. Ani’s reading friend found them and shared cookies and fun. They were so happy to be with their new friend!

Santa’s Surprise

On Christmas Eve, Santa arrived. “Surprise!” Dory and Randy shouted. Santa was glad they were safe and proud of them for delivering the gifts. He promised to bring them back every December to visit their new friend.

Randy’s Big Moment

Santa told Randy, “You were so helpful finding Dory. Would you like to guide my sleigh tonight?” Randy was thrilled! Santa sprinkled Stardust on him, and he grew big enough to pull the sleigh. Off they flew into the starry night, with Randy leading the way!

A Happy Ending

Back at the North Pole, Dory and Randy snuggled by the fireplace. “Good night and Merry Christmas,” they whispered as they fell asleep. Randy learned he could be brave and helpful, and they both had a wonderful adventure!

I hope you enjoyed our story today! See you next time!

  1. What do you think makes Dory and Randy such good friends? Can you think of a friend who always makes you feel better when you’re sad?
  2. Randy wanted to guide Santa’s sleigh but thought he was too small. Have you ever wanted to do something that seemed difficult? How did you feel when you tried it?
  3. Imagine you found Dory and Randy hiding behind your Christmas tree. What fun things would you do together during their visit?
  1. Reindeer Role Play: Let’s pretend to be reindeer like Randy! Gather some friends or family members and create a small obstacle course in your living room or backyard. Pretend you’re guiding Santa’s sleigh. Can you jump over pillows or dodge around chairs? Remember, just like Randy, you can be brave and helpful!

  2. Elf Craft Time: Create your own elf hat like Dory’s! Use colored paper, scissors, and glue to make a pointy hat. Decorate it with stickers or drawings. Once your hat is ready, wear it and think about how you can help others, just like Dory helped Santa. Share your ideas with a friend or family member.

  3. Stardust Experiment: Let’s make some magical “stardust” to sprinkle on our toys! Mix a little bit of glitter with some flour or salt in a small container. Pretend to sprinkle it on your favorite toy and imagine it flying like Randy. Talk about what adventure your toy might go on. What special place would it visit?

“Your Christmas Adventure with Dory and Randy,” written by Germinder and Jonidesange, illustrated by Anne Baratashvili, is a personalized story, which means in your copy you can fill in the blanks with your name. In this video, I’ll be filling in the blanks with Ani’s reading friend.

Christmas Eve was just around the corner, and the North Pole was bustling with excitement. Everyone was busy helping Santa get ready for the big day, including a young elf named Dory. Dory was one of Santa’s favorite elves because she was so kind and always tried her best. The only one who wasn’t being helpful was Dory’s friend Randy, a mischievous little reindeer who liked to hide toys and eat wrapping paper. Even though Randy was naughty sometimes, Dory loved him and would feed him carrots that were just as yummy as the wrapping paper.

Every Christmas Eve, the elves would pick the reindeer that would guide Santa’s sleigh, and Santa would sprinkle them with Stardust so they could fly. Every year, Randy would ask if he could be one of the chosen reindeer, but the answer was always the same: Santa needed a helpful reindeer to guide his sleigh, and Randy was too little and not helpful at all. When the elves didn’t choose him, Randy would walk away feeling sad. “I believe in you,” Dory would say, feeding him carrots from Mrs. Claus’s kitchen to cheer him up.

One day, Santa handed Dory a box of toys. “I know I can trust you to have these ready by Christmas. They are for someone special.” Dory looked at the label on the box; it read “For Ani’s reading friend.” “I will, Santa,” she said.

When Randy saw Dory, he shouted, “Where are you going with those toys?” “I’m taking them to the gift-wrapping factory to get them ready for delivery. When I get back, we can have a snowball fight!” Dory threw a snowball at Randy, and then off she went.

After Dory finished wrapping the gifts, she put them in her sack and started the journey back to Santa’s workshop. As she walked, the snow began to fall faster and faster. It was falling so hard she couldn’t see. “Oh no,” said Dory, “I don’t know the way back!”

Worried, Randy decided to go look for his friend. After walking for hours, he finally saw Dory’s footsteps in the snow and found her shivering in a small cave. “Randy, you found me!” Dory cried with relief. “But now we’re both lost. What are we going to do?” They curled up close together, and Randy kept her warm as they slept.

The next day, they looked out onto a snow-covered world, and the Northern Lights shone down on them. Dory gazed at the magical light show. “Will Santa ever get these presents to Ani’s reading friend?” She dropped her head and began to cry. As she sobbed, the lights moved closer and glowed brighter. Soon, Dory and Randy were surrounded by their warm glow. Dory held on to Randy, and they squeezed their eyes shut as they were lifted into the sky.

When they opened their eyes, the lights had disappeared, and they were standing inside the home of Ani’s reading friend. “Now we can give these toys to Ani’s reading friend!” Dory said excitedly. “Santa will be here on Christmas Eve; he’ll take us back. Don’t worry, Randy, it’ll be fun!”

Using her Elven magic, Dory quickly made herself and Randy small. They hid behind the Christmas tree until Ani’s reading friend found them. They were so happy to be with their new friend! Ani’s reading friend fed them Christmas cookies, made sure they were warm and safe, and included them in all the festivities and fun.

Soon it was the night of Christmas Eve. Everyone was asleep, and the house was quiet. Dory and Randy waited excitedly for Santa to come. Late that night, the big man appeared. “Surprise!” they cried. Santa dropped his bag of toys and wrapped them in a big hug. “I’m so glad you’re safe,” he whispered.

Dory told Santa about everything that had happened and how Ani’s reading friend had taken care of them. She showed him the gifts under the tree. “We got them here in time for Christmas,” Dory said. “I’m very proud of each of you, but now we’d better go. We have a lot of work to do,” said Santa.

On the rooftop, Dory and Randy looked at each other sadly. “We are going to miss our new friend.” Santa thought for a moment. “I have an idea! How about I bring you to visit every December?” “Yippee!” cried Randy and Dory.

Then Santa knelt in front of Randy. “Randy, when you saved Dory, you showed everyone just how helpful you can be. How would you like to guide my sleigh tonight?” Randy could hardly believe his ears; his wish had finally come true! Santa sprinkled Stardust on him, and he grew bigger and bigger. Soon he was big enough to pull Santa’s sleigh.

“We’ll see you again!” they yelled as they flew off through the starry night sky, with Randy joyfully leading the way. Back at the North Pole, Dory and Randy snuggled up in front of Santa’s fireplace for a much-needed rest. “Good night and a Merry Christmas,” they whispered and fell asleep.

Randy discovered he could be brave and helpful when he went to look for his friend Dory. I hope you enjoyed our story today! See you next time!
