Hi there! I’m a tiger, and I’m part of the big cat family. I live in the forests of Asia, which is a place with lots of trees and animals. I was born here 7 years ago as a tiny baby tiger called a cub. When I was born, I couldn’t see or do much on my own. But after a week, my eyes opened, and in just 2 years, I grew up to be an adult tiger!
My mom taught me how to hunt for food. Tigers like me are called carnivores because we eat meat. We look for animals like wild pigs, buffaloes, deer, and sometimes even small bears. We usually hunt when the sun is setting. Our special stripes help us hide in the grass and trees, so we can sneak up on our food. When the time is just right, we jump out and catch it!
But guess what? Catching food isn’t always easy. Sometimes, we have to be very patient and wait for the perfect moment. If we can’t catch anything on land, we can always try fishing because tigers are great swimmers!
Tonight, I feel like having a big meal, so I need to go hunting. You should head home now, little ones, before I get too hungry! Run along and have fun!
Animal Camouflage Game: Just like tigers use their stripes to hide, let’s play a game of hide and seek using camouflage! Find a spot in your home or garden where you can blend in. Use blankets, clothes, or toys to help you hide. Can you find a place where you are hard to see? Take turns with a friend or family member and see who can hide the best!
Patience Practice: Tigers need to be patient when hunting. Let’s practice patience with a fun activity. Plant a seed in a small pot and water it every day. Watch it grow over time. Keep a diary and draw pictures of how your plant changes each week. How does it feel to wait and watch something grow?
Animal Observation Walk: Go for a walk in your neighborhood or a local park with an adult. Look for animals or signs of animals, like birds, squirrels, or even insects. How do they move? What do they eat? Try to spot any animals that might be hiding. Discuss with your adult how these animals might be similar to or different from tigers.

Hello, little friends! I’m a tiger, and tigers are the largest members of the cat family. I live in the forests of Asia. I was born here 7 years ago as a cub. Like all cubs, I was born helpless and blind. After a week, my eyes opened, and within 2 years, I became an adult. My mom taught me how to hunt and catch my food.
Tigers are carnivores, which means we eat meat. We chase other animals like wild pigs, buffaloes, deer, or even small bears. We hunt at sunset, and here’s how we do it: our stripes help us blend in with the trees or grass, allowing us to creep closer to our prey. At the right moment, we rush from our cover and overpower it.
Oh well, it doesn’t always work out, as you might imagine. Patience is key, my little friends! And if we get really stuck, we can always fish because we’re excellent swimmers.
You know, fish won’t do tonight. I feel like a proper meal! You’d better go now, little ones, before I change my mind! That’s right, run away!
