Welcome to Story Time!

Hi there! Today, we’re going to have fun with a story called Go, Dog. Go! by P.D. Eastman. Are you ready? Let’s go!

Meet the Dogs

In this story, we have all kinds of dogs! There are big dogs and little dogs. Some dogs are black, and some are white. They all say, “Hello, hello!”

Hats and Hellos

One dog asks, “Do you like my hat?” But the other dog says, “I do not. Goodbye!”

Dogs on the Move

Look at the dogs go! One little dog is going in, and three big dogs are going out. There are red dogs on blue trees and blue dogs on red trees. Isn’t that silly?

Cars and Colors

Some dogs are driving cars. A dog gets out of his car. Oh no! Get back in, silly dog!

Up and Down

Two big dogs are going up, and one little dog is going down. The green dog is up, and the yellow dog is down. The blue dog is in, and the red dog is out. So many dogs doing different things!

Water Fun

One dog is up on a house, and three dogs are down in the water. A green dog is over a tree, and a yellow dog is under a tree. What fun!

More Hats and Hellos

Another dog asks, “Do you like my hat?” But again, the answer is, “I do not like it. Goodbye again!”

Round and Round

The dogs are going around and around. The sun is up, and it’s yellow. It’s hot in the sun, but not under the house.

Nighttime Fun

Now it’s night. Three dogs are having a party on a boat. Dogs at work become play dogs!

More Hats!

Once more, a dog asks, “Do you like my hat?” The answer is still, “I do not like that hat. Goodbye again!”

Fast Cars

Dogs in cars are going away fast. Look at those dogs go! But wait, stop! The light is red. Now go, dogs, go! The light is green.

Playtime and Sleep

Two dogs play up on top. But it’s night now, time to sleep. The dogs sleep all night long.

Morning Time

Now it’s day! The sun is up. Time for all dogs to get up and go! Go, dogs, go!

Where Are They Going?

Why are the dogs going so fast? Where are they going? Look, they’re all going to a big tree!

Dog Party!

The cars stop, and the dogs get out. They all go up the tree. What’s up there? A dog party! Big dogs, little dogs, red dogs, blue dogs, yellow dogs, green dogs, black dogs, and white dogs are all having a party!

Happy Ending

One last time, a dog asks, “Do you like my hat?” This time, the answer is, “I do! What a hat! I like it!”

Goodbye, everyone! Thanks for joining us for Story Time. See you next time!

  • What was your favorite part of the story, and why did you like it? Can you think of a time when you saw something silly like the dogs in the story?
  • If you could join the dogs at their party, what would you do with them? What kind of games or activities would you like to play?
  • Have you ever asked someone if they liked something you were wearing, like a hat or a shirt? How did it make you feel when they answered?
  1. Colorful Dog Parade: Gather some crayons or colored pencils and draw your favorite scene from the story. Think about the different colors of the dogs and the places they go. Can you draw a red dog on a blue tree or a green dog under a yellow sun? Share your drawing with a friend and talk about why you chose those colors.

  2. Hat Fashion Show: Create your own silly hat using paper, stickers, and other craft materials. Once your hat is ready, have a mini fashion show with your classmates. Ask each other, “Do you like my hat?” and see who can come up with the funniest or most creative hat design!

  3. Dog Movement Game: Play a game where you pretend to be the dogs from the story. Use commands like “Go up,” “Go down,” “Go in,” and “Go out.” You can even use colored paper or mats to represent different places like the red tree or the blue car. See how fast you can follow the commands and switch places!
