???? Kids Book Read Aloud: 5 UNICORN BOOKS IN ONE VIDEO! Almost 25 Minutes of Story Time

Hello, my reading friends! It’s Annie. Today, we have five magical unicorn stories just for you. Let’s dive into the world of unicorns and have some fun!

Never Let a Unicorn Scribble

Guess what? I have a pet unicorn! Everyone says, “Never let a unicorn scribble.” But why? Unicorns can run on rainbows, so why not scribble? I gave my unicorn a crayon, and she ate it! Oh no! Maybe unicorns don’t know how to use crayons.

I showed her how to scribble with my crayons. I made blue, pink, and yellow scribbles. Then, I tied crayons to her horn. Wow! Glittery scribbles shot everywhere—on the floor, ceiling, and walls!

My mom saw the mess and smiled. “You made a glowing masterpiece!” All the scribbles were on one big paper. It was amazing! Remember, all great art starts with a scribble, even for unicorns!

Unicorn and Horse

This is Unicorn, and this is Horse. Unicorn is shiny and colorful, while Horse is not. Unicorn eats pink cupcakes and makes rainbows. Horse does not. But guess what? They become friends!

One night, Unicorn was taken away by some men. Horse thought hard and ran fast to help. He freed Unicorn with his big teeth. Now, Unicorn and Horse share cupcakes and rainbows. Friendship is better than anything!

Donkeys Can’t Take Bubble Baths

“Hey Unicorn!” said Donkey. “I’m taking a beauty bath,” replied Unicorn. Donkey wanted to join, but the tub was too small. Unicorn thought and said, “Okay, but rinse first!”

Oops! Donkey splashed mud everywhere. Unicorn laughed, “It’s like a mud bath!” They both enjoyed their silly bath time. Sometimes, a little mess can be fun!

Never Let a Unicorn Wear a Tutu

I heard, “Never let a unicorn wear a tutu.” But I had a special tutu for my unicorn! She danced, twirled, and pranced happily. Then, she wanted shoes, bows, and jewelry!

Unicorn tossed cupcakes, but she looked sad. I realized she wanted us to match. I wore a tutu too, and Unicorn was overjoyed! We had a magical day together. Always share the fun!

Nobody Likes Unicorns

Some say nobody likes unicorns. But llamas are better, they say. Unicorns have rainbow manes and glittery poop that smells like flowers!

Unicorns are magical and grant wishes. I wished to be a llamacorn, and it came true! Everyone loves unicorns because they bring joy and magic to our lives!

These stories show us that unicorns are full of surprises and fun. Whether they’re scribbling, making friends, or wearing tutus, unicorns teach us about creativity, friendship, and joy. Let’s keep imagining and having fun with unicorns!

  1. In the story “Never Let a Unicorn Scribble,” the unicorn made a big mess with crayons. Have you ever made a mess while creating art? What did you learn from it, and how did it turn out in the end?
  2. Unicorn and Horse became friends even though they were very different. Can you think of a time when you made a new friend who was different from you? What did you learn from each other?
  3. In “Donkeys Can’t Take Bubble Baths,” Unicorn and Donkey had fun even when things got messy. Can you remember a time when something unexpected happened, but it turned out to be fun? What did you enjoy about it?
  1. Create Your Own Scribble Art: Just like the unicorn in the story, you can create your own masterpiece! Gather some crayons, markers, or colored pencils and a big sheet of paper. Start by making scribbles in different colors. What shapes or pictures can you see in your scribbles? Try to turn them into something magical, like a unicorn or a rainbow. Share your artwork with your family and tell them the story behind your creation!

  2. Unicorn and Horse Friendship Role Play: With a friend or family member, act out the story of Unicorn and Horse. One of you can be the Unicorn, and the other can be the Horse. Think about how they became friends and what they learned from each other. What would you do if you were Horse and saw Unicorn in trouble? How can you show kindness and help a friend in real life?

  3. Unicorn Dress-Up Day: Plan a special day where you and your friends or family dress up like unicorns. Use colorful clothes, make paper horns, and add some glitter if you have it. Pretend you are unicorns for the day and think about what magical things you would do. How would you spread joy and magic to others? Write down or draw your ideas and share them with your class.

Hello, my reading friends! It’s Annie. In this video, we have five unicorn books for all the unicorn lovers in our reading family. I hope you enjoy them!

**Never Let a Unicorn Scribble** written and illustrated by Diane Alber.

I recently got a pet unicorn. I know it’s hard to believe, but it’s true! Everyone keeps telling me never to let a unicorn scribble. Why would anyone say such a thing? I mean, unicorns can run on rainbows, so why can’t they scribble? I thought if I gave her just one crayon, what could go wrong? Well, I’ll tell you—she ate it!

Now my favorite bright pink crayon was traveling to the belly of my unicorn. This is probably why people say unicorns should never scribble—because they eat crayons! It occurred to me that maybe unicorns don’t know how to use crayons. So, I gathered all my crayons and started to scribble. I made a blue scribble, a pink scribble, a yellow scribble, and even a crazy scribble.

Now that she could see how crayons worked, I thought I would give her another chance to scribble. I took out a teal crayon and placed it right in front of her. “Listen to me, unicorn! We do not eat crayons; we draw with them!” But then I realized a unicorn couldn’t hold a crayon like I could. Maybe that was why she was eating them.

I had an idea! Maybe if I tied a few crayons to her horn, that would help her scribble. Within seconds, glitter scribbles started shooting out like water from a fire hose! Sparkling rainbow scribbles were everywhere—on the floor, on the ceiling, on the walls, and even on my lamp!

I’ve been begging my mom to redecorate my room for a while now, but I don’t think this is what she had in mind. Then I heard a noise down the hall. This was it; I was going to be in so much trouble! I popped out of my room and blocked the door before my mom could say anything. I started to explain the mess she was about to see.

“Well, it all started when I heard to never let a unicorn scribble, but I had to find out why. So, I gave my unicorn a crayon, and then she ate it. Then I tried to teach her to scribble, but she ate another crayon. So, I tied the crayons to her horn, and boy was that horn magical! The scribbles started shooting out like a water fountain, and they were so sparkly! But it made such a mess, and I’m sorry.”

My mom peeked around the corner and smiled. “You didn’t make a mess; you made a glowing masterpiece!” When I turned around, all the scribbles were right on my easel—not on the ceiling, not on the walls, not on my lamp. They were all on one big piece of paper, and it was the most amazing art ever!

All this time, people wanted to stop unicorns from scribbling. It could be because they eat crayons or because it’s so messy. But if my unicorn had never scribbled, she would have never learned how to make this masterpiece. So the next time you hear that unicorns shouldn’t scribble, just remember: all great art starts with a scribble, and even unicorns have to start somewhere!

**Unicorn and Horse** written by David Miles, illustrated by Holly Mengert.

This is unicorn, and this is horse. Unicorn is a unicorn, and horse is… well, not. Unicorn has a sapphire horn, a silver coat, a rainbow mane, and perfect white teeth. Horse does not. Unicorn eats pink cupcakes for every meal; horse does not. Unicorn makes rainbows; horse makes something else. Unicorn dances; horse does not.

All the animals love unicorn! He has a horn for squirrel to play ring toss, bird lines her nest with his long beautiful hair, and everyone loves sharing his cupcakes. “Won’t you join us?” horse said. “No, I don’t like you,” said unicorn. But what he meant was, “I wish I were you.”

Unfortunately, not everyone who heard about unicorn was a happy or unhappy animal. A rainbow-dancing unicorn who eats cupcakes for breakfast could make someone a lot of money.

One night, while everyone was asleep, two men crept into unicorn’s paddock. Quietly as they could, they tied a startled unicorn in ropes and loaded him into the back of their truck. Then they were off.

The other animals awoke when they heard the truck. “But I can’t run fast enough to catch them,” said squirrel. “And I can’t fly fast enough,” cried bird. “I can’t run on the road,” said fox. “And I can’t run at all,” said turtle.

Only one animal could help. Horse thought and thought and thought, then he ran and ran and ran. With six great chomps of horse’s large teeth, unicorn was free!

“Thank you,” said unicorn. “You’re welcome,” said horse. Oh, look! Unicorn is sharing one of his pink cupcakes with horse.

This is horse, and this is unicorn. Sometimes horse eats cupcakes, and sometimes unicorn eats hay. Sometimes horse makes rainbows, and sometimes unicorn does not. But most of all, they like each other. Horse and unicorn are friends, and that’s better than anything—even pink cupcakes!

**Donkeys Can’t Take Bubble Baths** written by Pragya Tomar, illustrated by Ramona McLean.

“Hey unicorn!” “Hi donkey! What are you doing?” “I’m taking my beauty bath.” “Oh, that looks bubbly!” “It’s my mega Bubblicious unicorn soap.” “It smells nice!” “Yes, donkey, it’s bath soap. The weather’s warm.” “Oh yes, it’s so relaxing! I haven’t had a bath since the last time it rained.” “What? It hasn’t rained in a month!”

Ew! Donkeys can go a month without bathing, but unicorns need to take a bath every day so we can look magical. “Huh, maybe I could take a dip in your Bubblicious bath soap.” “Oh, um, my tub is very small. It won’t fit both of us.” “Oh, just squeeze in a corner; you won’t even notice.”

“This is my beauty bath, my special time, my bubble bath.” “Oh, okay, I understand. I’ll just go.” “Donkey is my friend. Well, you know, I could maybe think about it.” “Yippee!” “Only after you rinse yourself!”

Oops! “Wow, look at me taking a bath between showers!” “Hmm, is that rain?” “I didn’t need a bath after all!” “Oh, donkey!” “What’s wrong, unicorn?” “I have to get out of this filthy mud water!” “Whoops! Are you okay, unicorn?”

Unicorn laughed. “This is like a beauty bath in the mud bath!” “Look who’s beautiful now!” “Hello! It’s time for our beauty bath!” “Oh, sorry little friends, the tub is muddy.” “What we meant was a mud bath!” “Yippee!”

**Never Let a Unicorn Wear a Tutu** written and illustrated by Diane Alber.

Today, I overheard my friend say, “Never let a unicorn wear a tutu.” Unfortunately, I didn’t have a chance to ask why. Now I have this fantastic tutu for my unicorn, and I’m not sure what to do. This tutu is specifically made for a unicorn; it says so on the tag. So what could go wrong?

Unicorn immediately tried it on. First, she danced. Next, she twirled. After that, she pranced. It was great to see her so happy! Then she did something that I wasn’t expecting—she took off running! “Where are you going?” I shouted.

I soon found her at my shoe rack. Apparently, a tutu needs to be accessorized with shoes! I calmly explained to unicorn that this would be the only time she could borrow my boots. I repeat, the only time! After I got the boots on unicorn, she wanted me to wear some fancy boots too. At first, I was reluctant, but I finally agreed.

But then she took off running again! This time, she got into my bows. “Stop!” I yelled. After unicorn put bows in her mane and tail, she wanted me to wear bows too. And once again, she took off running! “Where are you going now?” I hollered.

Not that jewelry! I screeched, but it was too late. Necklaces, rings, and bracelets were flying everywhere! After unicorn layered herself in jewelry, she wanted me to wear jewelry too. But then she took off running again! Unicorn headed right for the kitchen and started tossing cupcakes at me.

Miraculously, all the cupcakes landed perfectly on the plate! I thought unicorn would be ecstatic that I had saved all the cupcakes, but instead, a little tear ran down her cheek. She looked so upset! I tried to figure out what had happened, but I couldn’t understand what unicorn was trying to say.

I started to think: if I were a unicorn with an amazing tutu, fancy boots, sparkling bows, dazzling jewelry, and yummy cupcakes, why would I be sad? I soon realized that there was one thing missing. I quickly rushed to my closet, rummaged through my clothes, and pulled out a tutu. “Twinsies!” I announced.

Unicorn jumped for joy! Unicorn made me feel special all day. She included me from the minute she tried on the tutu, the fancy boots, the hair bows, and the dazzling jewelry. She even invited me to eat the yummy cupcakes!

It makes sense now: never let a unicorn wear a tutu unless you’re wearing a matching one too!

**Nobody Likes Unicorns** written by Karen Kilpatrick, illustrated by Herman Blancon.

Nobody likes unicorns; they are so nasty! They only come in one color. Llamas are way better; we come in lots of different solid and spotted colors like black, gray, tan, brown, red, and white. But what about their manes? Oh right, I guess they do have colorful rainbow manes, but let’s not focus on that.

Second, they share. Llamas are way better; we are super soft and cuddly. In fact, llama wool is light, warm, and water-repellent. They’ll try, but don’t let me too—oh, how embarrassing!

Third, unicorns have long pointy horns. That’s very dangerous! Llamas are way better; we are huggable and harmless with no sharp points anywhere. Soft wool, fluffy tail, long fashionable toenails—stay away from those to be safe!

But unicorn horns are made to help, not hurt. I guess I can imagine how the horns could be useful, and I love s’mores!

Fourth, they poop a lot. It’s true! I had a cousin who had a friend that had an uncle who had a teacher who was friends with a unicorn, and he told me so. But it’s not ordinary poop; really, look! Unicorns have glittery rainbow poop, and it smells just like flowers!

Fifth, they’re really hard to find. Friends are supposed to be there when you need them. When it comes to llamas, we are always here for you.

But I always have a unicorn with me! Whoa, I never knew there were so many adorable unicorn things out there. You can feel together even when you’re apart. They claim to be magical—magical! But I’ve never seen a unicorn do magic.

You just have to make a wish; they grant wishes, for sure! Okay, let’s see if this works. Swish, swish, sneak, whoosh! Wow, I’m a llamacorn! See, it’s true—nobody likes unicorns because everybody loves them!
