Hello, my reading friends! I’m Annie, and I’m so happy you’re here to read with me. Are you ready for a wonderful story? Let’s begin!
Once upon a time, a very special day happened when you were born. Your parents held you close and dreamed about all the amazing things you might do as you grow up. Let’s read a story about love and dreams called “I Will Always Be Proud of You,” written by Michael Wong and illustrated by Xena You.
As I look at you, my little one, I feel so proud. My heart is full of love that I just can’t hide. One day, you’ll grow up and fly like a bird. Today, I wonder what wonderful things you will do.
Maybe you’ll make beautiful music or write wise words. You might help animals like dogs, cats, and birds. Perhaps you’ll paint amazing pictures or cook yummy food that makes everyone happy.
Will you be a hero and save the day? Or help sick people feel better so they can play? You might help others who need a friend or teach athletes to do their best.
Maybe you’ll help kids be the best they can be or find ways to save the fish in the sea. You might discover a cure for a cold or show kindness, which is more precious than gold.
You could turn trash into treasure or find new ways to keep our Earth clean and healthy. Maybe you’ll look up at the stars and dream of new worlds, even on Mars!
Your special talent is waiting for you to find it. Always try your best in everything you do. If you ever feel sad, remember that tomorrow is a new, bright day.
I know you’ll reach your dreams. If you ever need me, I’ll be right here. I wish you happiness in whatever you choose to do. I love you, and I will always be very proud of you.
You are special, and you are loved. I hope you enjoyed our story today. See you next time!
Dream Collage: Gather some old magazines, newspapers, or printed images. Ask the children to cut out pictures of things they dream of doing or being when they grow up. It could be anything from a musician to a scientist. Have them create a collage by gluing these images onto a piece of paper. Encourage them to share their collage with the class and explain why they chose each picture.
Role Play Adventure: Set up different stations around the classroom, each representing a different profession or activity mentioned in the story, such as a music corner, an art station, or a mini science lab. Let the children rotate through the stations and try out each role. Ask them to think about what they enjoyed most and why.
Kindness Jar: Provide each child with a small jar and some colorful paper strips. Encourage them to write or draw acts of kindness they can do for others, inspired by the story’s message of helping and caring. Each time they perform an act of kindness, they can add a strip to their jar. Discuss how these small actions can make a big difference in the world.
Sure! Here’s a sanitized version of the transcript:

“I Will Always Be Proud of You,” written by Michael Wong and illustrated by Xena You.
I look at you, my little one, and feel a sense of pride. The love that grows inside my heart is one I cannot hide. One day, I know you’ll spread your wings, and then you will fly free. Today, I watch you, wondering what you’ll grow up to be.
Will you enrich our souls with wondrous music or wise words? Will you protect our animals, our mammals, and our birds? Perhaps you’ll captivate the world with stunning works of art or cook delightful meals that help to warm the heart.
Will you rush into danger to save the day or nurse the sick back to health so they can all play? It may be that you’ll someday care for those in need or coach athletes so they can reach their highest potential.
Perhaps you will empower kids to be all they can be or find ways to save the creatures of the sea. Will you discover how to cure the common cold or show kindness that is valued more than gold?
It might be that you’ll turn our waste into something that has worth or pioneer clean energy to make a healthy Earth. Will you turn your thoughts skyward to what’s waiting in the stars or build a wonderful new world for us on Mars?
Your passion waits, so seek it out to find the truest you and strive to be the best you can in everything you do. When clouds of doubt turn sunshine to a dark and hazy gray, stay strong and know tomorrow always brings a brighter day.
I have no doubt you’ll reach your dreams without fear. Just know that if you ever need me, I will be right here. I wish you happiness no matter what you choose to do. I love you, and I will always be very proud of you.
You are very special, and you’ll always be loved. I hope you enjoyed our story today. See you next time!
