Thanks for joining us on this adventure through the United States. We hope you had fun learning about regions, cities, Washington, D.C., and national parks. See you next time!

  • Can you think of a city or place you have visited or heard about in the United States? Which region do you think it belongs to, and what makes it special?
  • If you could visit any national park mentioned in the lesson, which one would you choose and why? What activities would you like to do there?
  • Imagine you are visiting Washington, D.C. Which landmark or museum would you like to see first, and what do you think you would learn there?
  1. Map Your Own State: Create a simple map of your state or a state you are interested in. Use crayons or colored pencils to draw the state and mark the capital city. Add a few other cities you know. You can also draw a symbol or picture that represents something special about that state, like a cowboy hat for Texas or a peach for Georgia. Share your map with your family and tell them what you learned about the state!

  2. City and Landmark Match-Up: Use flashcards to match cities with their famous landmarks. For example, draw or print pictures of the Statue of Liberty, the Gateway Arch, and the White House. On separate cards, write the names of the cities: New York City, St. Louis, and Washington, D.C. Mix them up and see if you can match each city with its landmark. You can do this with a friend or family member and see who can match them the fastest!

  3. National Park Explorer: Imagine you are visiting one of the national parks mentioned in the article. Draw a picture of what you might see there. For example, you could draw the geysers of Yellowstone, the deep canyon of the Grand Canyon, or the colorful fish of Biscayne National Park. Write a short story about your adventure in the park. What animals did you see? What activities did you do? Share your story with your class or family!
