Hello, I’m Miracle! I’m so happy you’re here for Story Time. Today, we have a fun story to share. Are you ready? Yay!
Our story is called “A Jog in the Fog.” Do you know what fog is? Fog is like a cloud, but it stays close to the ground. It’s made of tiny water drops. Let’s get ready to listen and see what happens in the story!
In the story, there’s a dog and a hog. They like to go for a jog together. Do you like to run and play outside too? It’s so much fun!
The dog and the hog jog to a big log. On the log, they find a frog! The three friends start to play together. They are having a great time!
Suddenly, fog rolls in. The dog and the hog can’t see anything! They say, “We cannot see when there is fog.” But don’t worry, the frog has a plan!
The frog says, “I can help you. I can see when there is fog. Jump off the log and come with me. Jump down when I say 1, 2, 3.”
The dog and the hog jump off the log and follow the frog. They are a little nervous, but they trust their friend.
With the frog’s help, they find their way out of the fog. “I see our home,” says the dog to the hog. They are so happy to be safe at home!
They thank the frog for helping them. The frog says goodbye, and the dog and the hog are happy to be home. The end!
Would you like to hear the story again? Yay! It’s always fun to listen to stories and look at the pictures.
This story is also in the ABC Mouse Library. You can listen to it anytime you want and make it one of your favorites!
Thanks for joining me for Story Time. I can’t wait to share another fun story with you soon. Bye-bye!
Fog in a Jar: Let’s create our own fog! You’ll need a glass jar, some hot water, ice cubes, and a metal lid. Pour a little hot water into the jar and swirl it around. Place the lid upside down on top of the jar and put some ice cubes on it. Watch as fog forms inside the jar! Can you see the tiny water drops? Talk about how this is similar to the fog in the story.
Animal Adventure: Pretend to be the dog, hog, and frog from the story. Create a simple obstacle course in your backyard or living room. Use pillows, chairs, or boxes to make logs and foggy paths. Take turns being the frog who helps guide the dog and hog through the fog. How does it feel to be the leader and help your friends?
Foggy Day Observations: Next time it’s foggy outside, go on a short walk with an adult. Look around and notice how things look different in the fog. Can you see far away or only things close to you? Draw a picture of what you see and share it with your friends. How is it similar to the story?
Sure! Here’s a sanitized version of the transcript:

Hi, I’m Miracle, and welcome to Story Time! This is our special time to share a story together. Yay!
The story from this book is “A Jog in the Fog.” Fog? What fog? Fog is made of little drops of water. It’s like a thin cloud that moves around near the ground instead of way up in the sky.
Now, get your ears ready to listen, get your eyes ready to look, and get your brain ready to wonder. Ready? Let’s read “A Jog in the Fog.”
Here is a dog. Here is a hog. The dog and the hog go for a jog. The dog and the hog jog to a log. Hmm, I wonder what’s on top of that log on the hill.
On the log, they see a frog. The dog and the hog play with the frog. They’re having so much fun together! Do you like to play outside with your friends? A lot of you do!
Oh no, look! Here comes the fog. “We cannot see,” say the dog and the hog. “We cannot see when there is fog.” Oh no, the dog and the hog cannot see in the fog. I wonder if they’ll keep playing.
“I can help you,” says the frog. “I can see when there is fog.” Hey, the frog can see! That’s pretty cool! “Jump off the log and come with me. Jump down when I say 1, 2, 3.”
The dog and the hog jump off the log. They sure do look a little nervous. They follow the frog out of the fog. “I see our home,” says the dog to the hog. Phew, they made it! Now they’ll be nice and safe at home.
They say thank you to the frog. The frog says goodbye to the dog and the hog. The end!
That was so exciting! You know, I like to have adventures outside, but it’s great to be safe at home too. There’s no place like home!
Hey, would you like to hear the story one more time? Yay! I’m so glad! This time I’m going to read it straight through without stopping. You can listen to the words and look at the illustrations.
