A Letter to Earthlings

Dear Earthling,

On my last space adventure, I visited your beautiful planet for over a week, and I want to tell you all about it! I come from a planet far away, and I love traveling through space to find amazing new places. You never saw me because I was in disguise, and my spaceship can disappear with just a click!

First, I landed in a place full of snow. It was fun but very cold! Then I remembered your planet looks blue from space, so I flew over your big oceans. I met a turtle, a dolphin, and a big whale. They told me to visit the beach, so I did! I played in the sand, looked for shells, and even surfed on a wave. A seagull came to say hi, but he really wanted my food!

Next, I wanted to see your cities, so I went on a tour. I saw many wonderful things, but my favorite was playing on the swings. I tried lots of your food, and ice cream was the yummiest! I tried 32 different flavors!

While walking, a friendly dog sniffed me. He knew I was special and suggested I go camping. I shopped for camping gear, but I wasn’t sure what everything did!

I flew to a place with beautiful mountains and trees. I heard birds singing, and it was wonderful! A little bear helped me set up my camp, and a raccoon made my tent look like a balloon.

That night, I saw my planet shining like a star in the sky. The next day, I went for a walk and saw a deer, a curious rabbit, and lots of colorful flowers.

As my trip was ending, I wanted to do something special. A lovely fox told me to go to the mountaintop. It was hard to climb with my heavy snack bag, but the view was amazing! Your planet is truly beautiful.

I wrote this letter to tell you about my wonderful trip and how unique your planet is. Please take good care of it!

Your friend from space, Crit.

I Am Stronger Than Anxiety

It was a sunny weekend, perfect for fun. Nick’s dad planned a camping trip with his son. Nick was excited but also worried: How will I sleep without my favorite toys? What if the thunder is loud? What if there are monsters in the trees? What if a bee stings me?

Nick felt anxious. His hands were sweaty, and his mouth was dry. He was so upset he could cry. On the drive to the mountains, Nick didn’t talk. Dad set up the tent while Nick went for a walk. He was still worried but saw a raccoon writing a note on the ground.

  1. Imagine you are Crit, the space traveler. What would be the first place you would visit on Earth, and why?
  2. Crit met many animals during the adventure. Have you ever seen or met any interesting animals? What was it like?
  3. Crit wrote a letter to Earthlings about the beauty of our planet. What is your favorite thing about Earth, and how can we take care of it?
  1. Space Adventure Drawing: Imagine you are Crit, the space traveler. Draw a picture of your favorite place you visited on Earth. Was it the snowy land, the ocean, or the mountains? Share your drawing with the class and explain why you chose that place.

  2. Nature Scavenger Hunt: Go on a mini adventure in your backyard or a nearby park. Look for things Crit might have seen, like a bird, a flower, or a tree. Make a list or draw pictures of what you find. How many different things can you discover?

  3. Planet Earth Care Plan: Crit asked us to take good care of our planet. Think of one thing you can do to help Earth. Maybe it’s picking up litter, planting a flower, or using less water. Share your idea with the class and try to do it this week!

A Letter to Earthlings

Dear Earthling,

During my last cosmic trip, I decided to visit your beautiful planet for over a week, and I would love to tell you all about it. I came from a planet far away, and what I enjoy the most is traveling through outer space and discovering wonderful new places. You never saw me; I did my best to disguise myself so I could fit in. A helpful thing is that my spaceship can disappear with just a click!

I first landed in a place full of what you call snow, and that was a lot of fun but very, very cold. Then I remembered your planet looks blue, so over your big oceans I flew. I said hello to a turtle, a dolphin, and a big whale. I asked them where I should go next, and they said the beach was a great place. I really enjoyed playing in the sand, looking for shells, and even surfing on top of a wave. Then I laid down to relax when a seagull came to say hi. I didn’t have a clue that what he wanted was to take all of my food!

As I wanted to see as much as I could through your cities, I took what I think you call a tour. I saw wonderful things, but what I enjoyed the most was playing on your swings. I tried a lot of your food, but the sweet taste of ice cream was always so yummy, and I never knew what flavor to choose. I think I tried 32!

While walking on the street, a friendly dog came up to sniff. I think he knew something about me was quite unique. He told me that going camping would be something great to do on my trip, and I said thank you for the tip. I went shopping for gear and filled my cart with lots of things that I thought would be ideal, but I’m not sure if I knew exactly what they did.

Then I flew to a site that had all the most beautiful sights where I could see mountains, trees, and I heard lots of birds singing. It was really a wonderful thing! It took me some time to set up my camp, but I was lucky to find some help. A little bear helped me bring out a chair, and a raccoon said my tent soon looked like a balloon.

Later that night, I saw my planet shining bright in the sky; it looked like a beautiful star so high. I went for a walk the next day and found so many wonders along the way. I saw a deer, a curious rabbit, and lots of flowers. Their colors were something I had never imagined.

As my trip was coming to an end, I was looking for something marvelous to do before I left. Then I came across a lovely fox, and he said I should go to the mountaintop. Walking uphill was no easy feat as my bag was heavy with all the snacks I wanted to eat, but I finally made it. Let me tell you, it was the most rewarding thing, as the view of your planet was truly a beautiful gift.

And that was it! I just thought of writing this letter to tell you about my wonderful trip and that your planet is truly unique and a beautiful place to live in. So please don’t forget to take really good care of it.

Your friend from space, Crit.

I Am Stronger Than Anxiety by Elizabeth Cole. Let’s get started!

I Am Stronger Than Anxiety

It was a sunny weekend, time for some fun. Nick’s dad planned a camping trip with his son. Nick was excited to spend a day with Dad, but then he thought of all the worries he had: How will I sleep without my favorite toys? How will I sleep if the thunder makes noise? What if I see monsters hiding in the trees? What if I get stung by a hardworking bee?

Nick’s hands started to sweat, and his mouth felt dry. He was so upset that he could start to cry. His whole world felt like it was turned inside out; he was feeling anxious, there was no doubt. During the drive to the mountains, Nick didn’t talk. Dad set up the tent while Nick went for a walk. Still worried, Nick wandered and looked all around. He saw a raccoon writing a note on the ground.
