  • Can you think of someone you know who is tall or short? How would you describe them using adjectives?
  • What color is your hair? Do you know anyone with a different hair color? How would you describe them?
  • Can you remember a time when you felt happy or sad? What happened, and how would you describe your feelings using adjectives?
  1. Adjective Hunt: Go on a fun adjective hunt around your home or classroom! Look for objects or people and think of adjectives to describe them. For example, you might find a “soft pillow” or a “happy friend.” Write down or draw pictures of the things you find and the adjectives you use. Share your findings with a friend or family member!

  2. Adjective Art: Create a drawing of a person using different adjectives. For example, draw a “tall” person with “blonde” hair who is “happy.” Use lots of colors and details to show the adjectives. When you’re done, show your artwork to someone and explain the adjectives you used.

  3. Adjective Storytime: With a partner, make up a short story about a character using at least three adjectives. For example, “Once upon a time, there was a strong, young knight who was very brave.” Take turns adding sentences to the story and see how many adjectives you can include. Share your story with the class!
