Discussion Questions

  • Have you ever helped a friend or family member fix something? What did you do, and how did it make you feel?
  • Why do you think it’s important to help each other when someone is in trouble? Can you think of a time when someone helped you?
  • If you had a magic toolbox, what tools would you want inside it, and what would you like to fix or create with them?

Lesson Activities

  1. Toolbox Exploration: Create your own magic toolbox! Gather some safe, everyday items like plastic spoons, toy hammers, or pretend screwdrivers. Pretend to fix things around the classroom or at home. What do you think each tool is used for? Can you find something that needs “fixing” and decide which tool to use?

  2. Helping Hands Game: Pair up with a friend and take turns being the helper and the one who needs help. Think of a simple task, like tying a shoe or picking up toys. How does it feel to help someone? How does it feel to be helped? Talk about why helping each other is important.

  3. Observation Walk: Go on a short walk around your school or home. Look for things that might need fixing, like a crooked picture or a loose button. Discuss what tools you might need to fix them. How can you be careful to prevent things from breaking?
