Animated Kids Books: Buzzy’s Balloon

Choosing Shoes

Red shoes, yellow shoes, green shoes, blue shoes. Which color do you think Buzzy will choose? Buzzy picks blue! What about you?

Buzzy and the Balloon

Buzzy has a blue balloon. “Come on, balloon, follow me!” Buzzy says. There are lots of toys for the balloon to see. At night, Buzzy ties the balloon to his bed. “Good night, balloon. Sleep tight. See you in the morning,” Buzzy whispers.

Oh No, the Balloon!

In the morning, the balloon is all flat! Buzzy calls, “Mommy, mommy, balloons no more! Make it like it was before.” Mommy knows just what to do. She blows and blows, and the balloon grows and grows. “It’s good as new!” Mommy says.

Playing with the Balloon

Buzzy loves his blue balloon. It flies up high! He can catch it, chase it, and hug it. But then, pop! The balloon is gone. “Mommy, mommy!” Buzzy cries.

When Balloons Pop

Mommy says, “I can’t fix the balloon for you. Once it’s popped, a balloon is through.” Buzzy feels sad and doesn’t want to play. But then he sees a good old friend, and he starts to feel better.

Buzzy’s Boo-Boo

Buzzy has a boo-boo, a big bump on his head. “Boo-hoo!” he cries. Mommy helps, and sister holds the bandages. Buzzy picks a bandage, and sister puts it on. Dad says magic words to make the bump go away.

Feeling Better

Buzzy wants his fuzzy bear. Bear needs a bandage too! Buzzy has some juice and jelly bread. He looks in the mirror and says, “Wow!” Buzzy feels better and is ready to play with his sister.

Bath Time and Bedtime

Night is coming, and it’s bath time! Daddy says, “Buzzy, bath time, dear.” The water is nice, and Buzzy washes up. When bath time is over, Daddy says, “Buzzy, put your boats away.” Buzzy worries about the drain, but Daddy says, “No need to frown. The drain can’t suck you down.”

Good Night, Buzzy!

After bath time, it’s bedtime. Buzzy is ready for a good night’s sleep with his favorite teddy bear. Sweet dreams, Buzzy!

  • What color shoes would you choose if you were Buzzy, and why do you like that color?
  • Have you ever had a toy or something special that got broken? How did it make you feel, and what did you do about it?
  • What do you do when you feel sad like Buzzy did when his balloon popped? Is there something or someone that helps you feel better?
  1. Color Hunt: Go on a color hunt around your home or classroom. Look for objects that are red, yellow, green, and blue, just like the shoes Buzzy had to choose from. Can you find something in each color? Once you’ve found them, share your favorite color and why you like it the most. This activity helps you notice colors in your everyday surroundings and think about your preferences.

  2. Balloon Experiment: With the help of an adult, blow up a balloon and let it go without tying it. Watch how it moves and where it lands. Try blowing it up again and see if it moves differently. Talk about why the balloon moves the way it does. This activity helps you understand how air can make things move and change direction.

  3. Feelings and Friends: Think about a time when you felt sad like Buzzy did when his balloon popped. What made you feel better? Draw a picture of a friend or family member who helps you feel happy. Share your drawing and talk about how friends and family can help us feel better when we’re sad. This activity encourages you to express your feelings and appreciate the people who support you.
