Today, we’re going to have a fun day at school! We start by waking up early and having breakfast together. Breakfast is super important because it gives us energy for the whole day. A good breakfast includes milk or yogurt, some fruit or juice, and cereal or toast. Yum!
Before we head to school, we pack our backpacks. Dad gives us a sandwich and some fruit for recess. It’s important to have everything ready, like our homework and school agenda. David, don’t forget your apple! Mom and Dad will pick us up later, so no worries.
At school, we learn lots of new things with our teachers and friends. Today in science class, we’re learning about the solar system. We’re working in groups to make a model of the planets. Teamwork is important, so everyone helps out. Paul, our new friend, joins our group. I’m good at art, so I get to color the planets. Saturn looks amazing!
When the bell rings, it’s time for recess! Recess is when we get to play and have fun. We can play sports, chat with friends, or make new ones. David and I play basketball with our friends. We’re practicing for our Saturday game. It’s important to play as a team and have fun!
After recess, we head to the dining room for lunch. It smells delicious! We always wash our hands before eating. I show David how to use a spoon and knife. We’re having soup and fish today. It’s important to try new foods because they help us grow strong and healthy.
After a fun day at school, we go home with Mom, Dad, and Tom. We do our homework and then have dinner together as a family. It’s been a great day!

Breakfast Detective: Tomorrow morning, become a breakfast detective! Look at what you have for breakfast and see if it includes something from each food group mentioned in the story: milk or yogurt, fruit or juice, and cereal or toast. Draw a picture of your breakfast and label each part. Share your drawing with your family and explain why each part is important for giving you energy for the day.
Planet Art Project: Just like Anna and her friends, create your own solar system model at home. Use different materials like clay, paper, or even fruits to represent the planets. Arrange them in order from the sun and try to remember their names. Ask a family member to help you research one fun fact about each planet and share it with your class or family.
Recess Role Play: During your next playtime, pretend you are at school recess. Choose a sport or game you enjoy and play it with friends or family. Focus on teamwork and having fun, just like Anna and David. After playing, discuss with your playmates what made the game fun and how teamwork helped you enjoy it more.

We’re going to get up early and have breakfast together before going to school. Dad is giving us a sandwich and some fruit for recess. We’re going to keep it in our backpacks because we need energy for the whole day. Breakfast is the first meal of the day, and it’s the most important one. A balanced breakfast consists of milk or yogurt, fruit or juice, and cereal or toast.
Let’s go, everyone! We have to get to school, and make sure you have everything in your backpack. David, don’t forget to grab an apple for recess. Remember that your mom and I are picking you up later. Don’t worry, Dad. I always check my backpack before going to sleep so that I won’t forget anything. I’ve got my homework, my school agenda, and my snack.
When the school day is over, we’ll wait for you inside where we always do. Let’s go! We’re going to be late. School is where we go to learn new things. We’ll learn many things with our teachers and classmates—things that will be important in our lives. Remember to always learn with a smile.
I go into the classroom and say hello to my classmates. We have our science class now, and the teacher is explaining a project. I’m going to listen to him today. We’re going to learn about the solar system and will work in groups of four. Each team will create their own scale model. It’s really important for everyone to participate and help each other complete the project.
In our group, there are only three kids. Maybe Paul, our new classmate, would like to work with us. Great! I’m really good at art, so if you want, I can color the planets. Wonderful! Thanks, Paul. Thanks to your help, our project turned out great. Saturn’s colors are so cool!
The classroom is the space in the school where we work and learn. Teamwork, listening, respect, and friendships are very important for a happy classroom atmosphere. Hey, the bell for recess just rang! Let’s go to the playground.
Recess is our time to rest and have fun. Make the best of recess to play sports and games, chat with your classmates, or make new friends. Remember that it’s important to have something to eat to have energy for your next class. The bell rings, and we all go out to the playground to play. David is playing basketball with his friends, and I’m going to join them.
Guys, come here please! Let’s practice some moves for our Saturday games. Pass the ball to David; he’s really good at shooting. What a great shot! You guys played so well. Remember that on Saturday we have the finals. It’s really important to play together as a team and to stay focused.
After recess, David and I are going to the dining room. It smells so good! This school dining room is where we eat. Remember that it’s really important for us to wash our hands before we eat and to use our silverware properly. We always wash our hands before we eat. I’m going to show David how to use the silverware.
A spoon and a knife—do I have to eat the soup? I don’t know if I like it or not. I don’t think I’ve ever had it before. And my chicken—does it have any bones? Try your soup; I love it! We have to eat vegetables because they’re healthy for us and help us grow strong. And that over there isn’t chicken; it’s fish. It’s delicious!
Today we learned about what a school day is like. Later, we’ll go home with Mom, Dad, and Tom, then we’ll do our homework and have dinner together as a family.
