Pink Delicious replied, “I would love to hear a joke!”

Blake said, “Okay, what did the pirate say when he turned 80 years old?”

Pink Delicious thought for a moment and said, “80 years old? That’s really old! I don’t know, what did he say?”

Blake laughed and said, “Aye, matey!”

Joke Time with Blake and John Jones

Next, Blake asked John Jones, “Hey, John Jones! Do you want to hear a joke?”

John Jones replied, “Oh, I would love to hear a joke!”

Blake asked, “What do you call a bear with no teeth?”

John Jones was curious and said, “I don’t know, what?”

Blake giggled and said, “A gummy bear!”

John Jones laughed and said, “Oh my goodness, is that so funny!”

Let’s Learn About Jokes!

Jokes are little stories or questions that make us laugh. They often have a surprise or a funny answer. When we hear a joke, it can make us smile and feel happy. Do you have a favorite joke you like to tell?

Remember, sharing jokes with friends is a great way to have fun and make everyone giggle!

  • What is your favorite joke, and why do you think it’s funny? Can you share it with us?
  • Have you ever made someone laugh with a joke or a funny story? How did it make you feel?
  • Why do you think jokes are important when spending time with friends and family? Can you think of a time when a joke made everyone happy?
  1. Create Your Own Joke Book: Gather some paper and crayons. Ask the children to think of their own funny jokes or stories. They can draw pictures to go along with their jokes. Once they have a few, staple the pages together to make a personal joke book. Encourage them to share their jokes with family and friends to spread laughter.

  2. Joke Detective: Go on a “joke hunt” around the classroom or home. Hide pieces of paper with simple jokes written on them in different places. When a child finds a joke, they can read it aloud to the group. Discuss why the joke is funny and what makes it a joke. This activity helps children understand the structure and elements of jokes.

  3. Funny Faces and Giggles: Have a “funny face” contest where each child takes turns making a silly face to make others laugh. Afterward, discuss how making funny faces is similar to telling jokes because both are meant to make people smile and feel happy. Ask the children how they feel when they make someone else laugh.
