Make Your Own Fun Wrapping Paper!

Do you know what makes giving gifts even more special? Wrapping them in paper that you made yourself! It’s super fun and easy to do. Let me show you how!

Balloon Wrapping Paper

My sister Natasha loves balloons, so I decided to make her some balloon wrapping paper. First, I gathered some colorful balloons. Then, I placed them on my scanner and moved them around until they looked just right. If you don’t like how it looks the first time, you can always move the balloons around and try again. Natasha is going to love this wrapping paper!

Dog Bone Wrapping Paper

I also needed wrapping paper for some presents I got for my cats. I thought it would be funny to use paper decorated with dog bones! I cut out some bone shapes from recycled styrofoam. Then, I placed them on the scanner. To make it look even better, I added a piece of paper on top for a nice background. After scanning, I had my funny dog bone wrapping paper ready. My cats will think it’s hilarious!

Marble Wrapping Paper

My dad and I love playing marbles together, so I decided to make him some marble wrapping paper. First, I put a sheet of plastic over the scanner glass to protect it and to make a cool background. Then, I gently placed the marbles on the scanner. I also added some decorative stars to make it colorful. After arranging everything, I picked a purple background and scanned it. It turned out great!

Get Creative!

The best part about making your own wrapping paper is that you can use anything you like! Old toys, cut-out pictures, or even things you find around the house can work. If you need bigger wrapping paper, just print more sheets and tape them together. To make your gifts even more special, you can create bows using pipe cleaners, kitchen scrubbies, or elastic bands.

Now you know how to make your own fun and unique wrapping paper. Give it a try and surprise your family and friends with your creative gift wrapping!

  • What kind of things would you like to use to make your own wrapping paper? Why do you think those items would be fun or special?
  • Can you think of a time when you received a gift wrapped in special paper? How did it make you feel, and why do you think the wrapping was important?
  • If you could make wrapping paper for someone special, who would it be for and what design would you choose? How do you think they would react to your creation?
  1. Create Your Own Theme: Think about something you love, like your favorite animal, toy, or hobby. Use this idea to create your own wrapping paper design. Gather small objects or draw pictures that match your theme. Arrange them on a piece of paper and ask an adult to help you scan or take a picture of your creation. How does your design reflect what you love?

  2. Nature Walk Collection: Go on a nature walk with an adult and collect small items like leaves, flowers, or interesting stones. Use these items to create a nature-themed wrapping paper. Arrange them on a piece of paper and take a picture. Discuss with your friends or family how nature can inspire art and creativity.

  3. Gift Wrapping Challenge: With a friend or family member, have a wrapping paper design challenge. Each person picks a different theme and creates their own wrapping paper using objects from around the house. Share your designs and explain why you chose your theme. What was the most fun part of creating your wrapping paper?

Here’s a sanitized version of the provided YouTube transcript:

You know what makes giving gifts even better? Wrapping them in wrapping paper you made yourself! My sister Natasha loves balloons. Here they are! I’m going to create balloon wrapping paper using my scanner. I’ll place these on my scanner and move them around until they look the way I want them to.

I can position them like this, with this big one right underneath, and maybe add a little spacer right here. Then I’ll scan them. If you don’t like how it looks the first time, just rearrange the balloons and try again. Natasha will really like this!

Now I need wrapping paper to wrap some presents I got for my cats. I thought it would be funny to use wrapping paper decorated with dog bones. I cut some bone shapes out of recycled styrofoam. Now all I need to do is place them on the scanner. I’ll put this big one right here; that looks great! I’ll add a piece of paper on top to create a background, then just scan it. Here it comes! My cats will think this is so funny.

Now for my dad. My dad and I play marbles all the time, and I think he would like wrapping paper with marbles on it. First, I’m going to put a sheet of plastic over the glass. The reason for that is to prevent scratches and to create an interesting background for the picture. That should do it!

Now I’ll gently place these marbles on. There we go! I’ll put one there and one there, and look at these stars! Just some decorative stars that I can sprinkle right here. The cool thing about these stars is that they add color. Once I have them all in place, I just need to get a background. This purple is nice. Then I’ll scan it.

I’m using marbles and decorative stars, but the great thing about this is you can use anything! Old toys work really well, and you can even use cut-out pictures. If you need your wrapping paper to be bigger, just print off more and tape them together. To finish them off, I made bows out of pipe cleaners, a kitchen scrubby, and elastic bands.
