share us on:

In today’s lesson, we explored the concept of circles, identifying them as round shapes found in everyday objects like clocks, pizzas, and coins. We engaged in activities such as finding circles around us, drawing our own circles, and participating in fun circle-related games. The lesson emphasized the joy of learning about shapes and encouraged continued exploration of the world around us.
  1. What shape did we learn about today?
  2. Can you find something in your room that looks like a circle?
  3. How do you draw a circle with your crayon or pencil?

Welcome to the World of Shapes!

Today, we are going to learn about a special shape called a circle. Are you ready to have some fun? Let’s go!

What is a Circle?

A circle is a round shape. It looks like a big ring or a wheel. Can you think of things that are shaped like a circle? How about a clock, a pizza, or a coin? They are all circles!

Finding Circles Around Us

Let’s play a game! Look around your room and see if you can find anything that is shaped like a circle. Maybe a plate or a ball? Circles are everywhere!

Drawing a Circle

Do you want to draw a circle? Grab a crayon or a pencil. Start at one point and go around and around until you meet where you started. Yay! You just drew a circle!

Fun Circle Activities

Here are some fun things you can do with circles:

  • Make a circle with your arms. Can you make a big circle? How about a small one?
  • Use a hula hoop and spin it around. It’s a big circle you can play with!
  • Draw lots of circles on a piece of paper and color them in. What colors will you use?

Keep Exploring!

There are so many shapes to learn about, but today we had fun with circles. Keep looking for circles everywhere you go. Remember, learning is fun!

Thank You for Exploring!

Thank you for learning about circles with us today. Keep exploring and discovering new shapes. See you next time!

  • Can you think of your favorite thing that is shaped like a circle? Why do you like it so much?
  • When you look around your home or outside, what are some of the most interesting circles you can find? What makes them interesting to you?
  • Have you ever used a circle to do something fun, like playing a game or making art? Can you share your experience with us?
  1. Circle Hunt Adventure: Go on a circle hunt around your home or classroom. Can you find at least five different objects that are shaped like a circle? Once you find them, draw each object on a piece of paper and label them. Share your drawings with a friend or family member and see if they can find the same objects!

  2. Circle Art Creation: Gather some colored paper, scissors, and glue. Cut out different sizes of circles from the paper. Arrange and glue them onto a larger sheet to create a fun picture or pattern. What can you make with your circles? Maybe a caterpillar, a flower, or a sun?

  3. Circle Story Time: Think about a story where circles play a big part. Maybe it’s about a circle that rolls away on an adventure or a circle that wants to become a different shape. Draw pictures to go along with your story and share it with your class or family. What happens to your circle in the story?
