Let’s Learn Some Fun Words!

Hey there, little friend! Today, we’re going to learn some fun words that you can use every day. Are you ready? Let’s go!

Do

The word “do” is a very special word. We use it when we want to talk about actions. For example, when you play with your toys, you do something fun! Can you think of something you like to do?

So

The word “so” is like a helper word. It helps us explain things. If you are very happy, you can say, “I am so happy!” Try using “so” to tell someone how you feel today.

Dog

Do you know what a “dog” is? A dog is a furry friend that loves to play and wag its tail. Dogs can be big or small, and they love to go for walks. Do you have a dog, or do you know someone who does?

To

The word “to” is a little word that helps us move from one place to another. If you want to go to the park, you can say, “Let’s go to the park!” Where do you want to go to today?

You

The word “you” is all about the person we are talking to. If I say, “You are amazing,” I’m talking about you! Can you tell someone something nice using the word “you”?

Let’s Practice!

Now that we know these words, let’s practice them together. Can you make a sentence using each word? Here are some ideas:

  • You are my best friend!

Great job! Keep practicing, and soon you’ll be a word expert!

Discussion Questions

  • Think about a time when you felt so happy or excited. What happened, and who were you with?
  • Do you have a favorite animal, like a dog? What do you like about them, and how do they make you feel?

Lesson Activities

  1. Action Charades: Let’s play a game of charades using the word “do”! Think of an action you like to do, like jumping or drawing, and act it out for your friends or family. Can they guess what you’re doing? Take turns and see how many actions you can come up with!

  2. Feelings with “So”: Draw a picture of how you feel today and use the word “so” to describe it. For example, if you draw a big smiley face, you can say, “I am so happy!” Share your picture and sentence with someone at home or in class.
