Going to the Doctor

Once upon a time, a little child was feeling a bit scared. They thought they saw a monster, but it was really just a friendly doctor! The doctor was there to help them feel better.

Being Brave at the Doctor’s

The child was nervous, but the doctor said, “Don’t be scared, you’re so brave!” The doctor checked the child’s mouth and said, “Ah, you’re such a brave kid!” It wasn’t a monster at all, just a nice doctor.

Taking Medicine

The child’s parent said, “You’ll feel better if you take your medicine.” Even though the child didn’t like hospitals, their friends came to cheer them up with a present!

Yummy Candies and Clean Teeth

The friends brought yummy candies. “Wow, these are so tasty!” said the child. But oh no, the candy got stuck in their teeth! The parent said, “Let’s brush your teeth to make them clean.”

Visiting the Dentist

Some candy pieces were still stuck, so they went to see a little dentist. The dentist helped clean all the teeth. “Your teeth are all clean now!” said the dentist. Everyone was happy and smiled with their healthy teeth.

Playing Doctor

One day, the child’s mom wasn’t feeling well. The child and their sibling decided to play doctors to help her. They checked her temperature and gave her a cooling patch and a bandage. “You’ll get well soon, Mom!” they said.

Helping Mom Feel Better

The children gave their mom some water and a sticker to cheer her up. “I love you, Mom,” they said. Mom felt much better and thanked her little helpers.

Playing Safely

The children found some toys and tools. “These tools are dangerous, let’s put them back,” they said. They knew it was important to play safely.

Being Careful

They also learned not to put plastic bags on their heads because it’s not safe. “Let’s play with our toys instead!” they said happily.

Taking Medicine and Staying Healthy

The child’s parent reminded them to take their medicine. “You are so brave!” said the parent. The child took their medicine and felt proud.

Washing Hands

After using the restroom, the child remembered to wash their hands to keep germs away. “Yes, let’s wash our hands!” they said, making sure to stay clean and healthy.

Making Colorful Ice Pops

The children decided to make colorful ice pops using fruits and vegetables. They used tomatoes, apples, strawberries, and more. “I love fruits and veggies!” they cheered.

Cleaning with Robot Cleaners

When they saw dust on the floor, they used robot cleaners to clean it up. “I am a robot cleaner!” they said, having fun while keeping everything tidy.

Happy Ending

In the end, everything was clean, and the children had learned so much about being brave, staying healthy, and playing safely. They all had a great time together!

Discussion Questions

  • Have you ever been to the doctor or dentist? How did you feel before and after your visit? Can you share a story about a time you were brave?
  • What are some things you do to stay healthy and safe, like washing your hands or brushing your teeth? Why do you think these things are important?
  • If you could make your own colorful ice pops, what fruits or vegetables would you use? Why do you think eating fruits and vegetables is good for you?

Lesson Activities

  1. Role-Playing Doctor: Gather some toy medical kits or create simple doctor tools using household items. Encourage the children to take turns being the doctor and the patient. Ask them to think about how they can make their patient feel comfortable and brave, just like the doctor in the story. Discuss how it feels to help someone and how doctors help us stay healthy.

  2. Healthy Teeth Experiment: Use a hard-boiled egg to represent a tooth. Let the children observe what happens when the egg is placed in a cup of soda for a day. Discuss how the soda affects the egg’s shell and relate it to how sugary foods can affect our teeth. Encourage the children to think about what they can do to keep their teeth healthy, like brushing and visiting the dentist.

  3. Germ Hunt: Give each child a magnifying glass and have them pretend to be germ detectives. Ask them to look around the classroom or home to find places where germs might hide, like doorknobs or toys. Discuss the importance of washing hands and keeping things clean to stay healthy. Encourage them to think of fun ways to remember to wash their hands regularly.
