Discussion Questions

  • Have you ever been on an adventure or played a game where you had to solve a mystery like the treasure chest story? What did you do, and how did it make you feel?
  • Can you think of a time when you helped someone or worked together with friends, like the rescue team or the firefighters? What happened, and how did you help?

Lesson Activities

  1. Build Your Own Rescue Team: Gather some toys or stuffed animals and create your own rescue team. Pretend that one of your toys needs help, like being stuck on a ski lift or needing a flat tire fixed. Use your imagination to come up with a rescue plan. How will your team help? What tools will they need? Share your story with a friend or family member.

  2. Earthquake Safety Drill: Practice what to do during an earthquake. Find a safe spot in your home, like under a sturdy table. Pretend the ground is shaking and practice staying calm. Remember to hold on tight and stay away from windows. Talk with your family about your earthquake safety plan. Why is it important to be prepared?

  3. Community Helpers Role Play: Choose a role like a firefighter, police officer, or doctor. Dress up using items from around the house, like a hat or a white coat. Act out a situation where you help someone, like putting out a pretend fire or helping a lost toy find its way home. Discuss with your friends or family how these helpers make our community safe and happy.
