Splishy Splashy Fun

In the bubbly bubble bath, we have our rubber duckie swimming around. Look, there’s a penguin racing with him! Who will win the race? Let’s find out!

Sailors at Sea

Hey, Mommy, look at us! We’re sailors out at sea in our red sailboat. We go up and down, floating on the waves. It’s so much fun!

Submarine Adventure

Now, let’s ride our submarine! We dive deep and come back up, feeling squeaky clean. Up goes the periscope as we rinse off all the soap. What a cool adventure!

Time to Get Dry

After all the fun, Mommy dries us off with a towel that’s oh-so-soft. Now it’s time for a bedtime story. We climb into bed, ready to dream about our bathtime adventures.

If you could go on a bath time adventure, what kind of adventure would you choose? Would you be a sailor, a submarine captain, or something else?
Can you think of a time when you had a lot of fun in the water, like at the pool or the beach? What made it so special?

Rubber Duckie Race: Next time you’re in the bath, bring along a rubber duckie and a small toy penguin. Have a race to see which one floats to the other side of the tub first. Ask yourself, “What makes some toys float faster than others?” Try using different toys and observe what happens. Can you think of other things that float or sink in water?
Sailboat Experiment: Create a simple sailboat using a small piece of sponge, a toothpick, and a paper sail. Place it in the water and gently blow on the sail to make it move. How does the sail help the boat move? Try changing the size of the sail or the shape of the sponge. What happens to your boat? Discuss with a friend or family member why you think these changes affect the boat’s movement.
Submarine Dive: Use a plastic bottle with a cap as your submarine. Fill it halfway with water and see if it floats or sinks. Try adding more water or taking some out. What happens to your submarine? Can you make it float just below the surface like a real submarine? Talk about why you think the submarine floats or sinks when you change the amount of water inside.
