Oh no! A giant rock, which is super important to our town, got destroyed! But guess what? Now, the Gila monsters have nothing to fight over. Let’s find them a new home!
The Gila monsters are upset because their home was destroyed. We need to find them new places to live. Kit, do you know where we can find good homes for them?
“Hmm… I see two spots here and here,” Kit said. “Perfect! They’re far enough apart so the Gila monsters won’t fight anymore.”
We need to lure the Gila monsters to their new homes. But how? What do they like to eat?
“They love all kinds of food, but they really, really love eggs,” Kit explained.
“Great! I’ll use eggs to guide them to their new homes. But how can I do it at the same time?”
“Maybe you could roll the eggs, like in bowling!” Kit suggested.
Director Scratch arrived just in time. “Sounds like you need someone who can bowl some eggs,” he said. “I brought special bowling eggs just for this!”
Director Scratch aimed one egg this way and the other egg that way. “Let’s bowl!”
The Gila monsters followed the eggs to their new homes. “Ooh! A new home! Cozy,” they said happily.
Thanks to Director Scratch, the Gila monsters each have their own home now, and they won’t be fighting anymore.
“Feeling better, Kit?”
“Sure am, partner. Thanks for handling this today,” Kit replied.

Oh no! That giant boulder is the most important monument in our town! So much for their new home. Well, on the bright side, now they have nothing to fight over.
You have destroyed my new home! It was my home, and you destroyed it! Oh, great.
Hey, Kit? Are there any other good homes for Gila monsters around here? I need two.
Hmm… Looks like there’s one here and here.
Perfect! They’re far enough away from each other that there shouldn’t be any more fighting.
Look. I drew a flower. We just have to lure the Gila monsters apart to these new homes. Maybe with food? Any idea what they eat?
Oh, they eat all kinds of things, but they really love eggs. Really, really love ’em.
Okay. So what if I lure one lizard this way with an egg and the other lizard that way with a second egg? But I’d have to do it at the same time somehow.
Maybe if you rolled them both? You know, like egg bowling.
I’m afraid I’m not much of a bowler.
But I am.
Director Scratch! Sounds like you need someone who can bowl some eggs.
Yeah, but how did you know we needed–
I’m the director of CLADE. It’s my job to know about these things. I brought my best bowling eggs made especially for accuracy. Don’t worry. There are no chicks inside.
Okay, Director. Aim one egg there and the other egg there. Let’s bowl.
Now, while they’re apart.
Egg! Egg? Egg!
Ooh! A new home! Cozy.
Ah! This is nice.
You did it, Director! Now that those Gila monsters each have a home of their own, they won’t be fighting anymore.
Feeling better, Kit?
Sure am, partner. Thanks for handling this one today.
Well, I had plenty of help. In honor of this happy occasion, we have written a new song: “The Ballad of Peggy Scratch.”
