Welcome to Abby’s Advice! Today, we’re talking about something many kids find tricky: brushing their teeth. A young friend, who calls themselves “Bored of Brushing,” asked Abby for help to make this daily task more fun.
“Dear Abby, I don’t like brushing my teeth two times a day. Can you help me?” This is a question many kids have because brushing can feel boring sometimes.
Abby explains why brushing our teeth is so important. We need to brush twice a day to keep our teeth healthy and clean. Even if it feels like a chore, it’s really good for us!
Abby has a great idea to make brushing more fun: sing your favorite song while you brush! This makes the time go by faster and adds some fun to the routine. You can also hum or make silly sounds to make it even more playful.
Abby tells “Bored of Brushing” to keep brushing and have fun while doing it. She reminds us that even simple tasks can be fun if we try. Abby is excited to hear more from kids about their challenges and how they solve them!
Brushing Song Creation: Create your own brushing song! Think of a tune you like and make up words about brushing your teeth. You can sing about the toothbrush, toothpaste, and how clean your teeth feel afterward. Share your song with your family and see if they can sing along with you during brushing time.
Toothbrush Timer Craft: Make a fun timer to help you brush for the right amount of time. Use a small hourglass or a kitchen timer, and decorate it with stickers or drawings of teeth and toothbrushes. Use your timer every time you brush to make sure you brush for at least two minutes.
Tooth Detective: Become a tooth detective and observe what happens when you brush your teeth. Before brushing, look in the mirror and notice how your teeth look. After brushing, check again to see the difference. Write down or draw what you see and share your findings with your class or family.
