Alphabets Sounds Video

share us on:

In today’s Circle Time, we enjoyed a lively session with Caitie from Super Simple, who led us in a fun Hello song that encouraged us to express our feelings through movement. We also read the story “Ollo’s Toy House,” which highlighted the joy of surprises and friendship, while learning new vocabulary related to building. Finally, we discussed how to create our own toy houses using everyday items, fostering creativity and imagination.
  1. What did we learn about how to say hello and show our feelings?
  2. How did Ollo and Kodi make each other happy in the story?
  3. What can you use to build your own toy house at home?

Welcome to Circle Time!

Hello, friends! It’s great to see you here at Circle Time. Today, we have a special guest, Caitie from Super Simple and Caitie’s Classroom, who will sing a fun Hello song with us. Let’s get ready to sing and move along!

Sing Along with Caitie

Caitie is here to teach us a Hello song with some cool movements. Let’s try them together:

  • Say “I’m good” and smile.
  • Say “I’m great” and give a thumbs up.
  • Say “I’m wonderful” and cheer.
  • Show how you feel when you’re tired, hungry, or not so good.

Now, let’s sing the Hello song together and express all those feelings!

How Are You Feeling Today?

After singing, we talked about how everyone is feeling. Some friends are happy because they played with Play-Doh, while others feel a bit sad because they miss playing with friends outside. It’s okay to have different feelings, and it’s good to talk about them.

Story Time: “Ollo’s Toy House”

We read a story about Ollo, who built a toy house as a surprise for his friend Kodi. Ollo worked hard to build the house, paint it, and add furniture. In the end, Kodi surprised Ollo with dolls and action figures for the house. They both made each other happy with their surprises!

Learning New Words

We learned some new words today:

  • Floors: The flat parts of the house.
  • Clothes: The tiny outfits Ollo put in the closets.
  • Front: The front part of the house.
  • Frame: The structure that holds the house together.

Building Your Own Toy House

We talked about how you can make your own toy house using things around your home. You can use boxes, blocks, or even pots and pans. Be creative and have fun building!

Goodbye for Now!

We had so much fun singing, reading, and building today. Remember, you can make amazing things with a little imagination. Goodbye for now from Caroline, Sophie, and the Khan Academy Kids team. See you next time!

  • What is your favorite part of the Hello song, and can you show us your favorite movement? How does it make you feel when you sing and move along with the song?
  • Can you think of a time when you made something special for a friend or family member, like Ollo did for Kodi? How did it make you feel to surprise them?
  • If you could build your own toy house, what would you use to make it, and what special features would it have? Would you add anything to make it unique or fun?
  1. Feelings Chart: Create a feelings chart at home. Draw different faces showing various emotions like happy, sad, tired, and excited. Each day, point to the face that matches how you’re feeling and talk about why you feel that way with a family member or friend. This will help you understand and express your emotions better.

  2. Build Your Own Toy House: Gather materials like empty boxes, blocks, or even kitchen items like pots and pans. Use your imagination to build a toy house. Think about the different parts of the house, like the floors and the frame. Once your house is built, share it with someone and explain what each part is. This activity helps you understand how things are put together and encourages creativity.

  3. Story Creation: Imagine you are Ollo and you want to surprise a friend with something special. Draw a picture or write a short story about what you would create for your friend. Think about how your surprise would make them feel and why. Share your story with someone and discuss how giving and receiving surprises can make us feel happy.
