Colors All Around Us

Let’s go on a fun adventure to explore all the beautiful colors we see every day!

Green

Green is the color of the grass where we love to play. It’s also the color of the tall trees where red flowers bloom. Isn’t it fun to see how green makes everything look so alive?

Red

Red is as bright as the sunset we see at the end of the day. It’s the color of beautiful flowers and juicy apples. Red makes everything look warm and happy!

Blue

Blue is the color of the big, wide sky. It’s also the color of the ocean and the twinkle in your eye. Blue makes us feel calm and peaceful.

Yellow

Yellow is the color of the sun saying “Good morning!” It’s also the color of buzzing bees flying by. Yellow is bright and cheerful, just like a smile!

Orange and Pink

Orange and pink make the world even more colorful! Orange is the color of crunchy carrots, and pink is the color of a lovely sunset. Together, they make everything look magical!

Let’s Explore Colors!

Next time you go outside, look around and see how many colors you can find. Maybe you’ll see a green tree, a red flower, or a yellow sun. Colors make our world a beautiful place!

  • What is your favorite color that you see outside, and where do you usually find it? Can you think of a place or thing that has lots of that color?
  • Imagine you are painting a picture of your favorite day. What colors would you use to show how you feel and what you see? Why did you choose those colors?
  • Have you ever noticed how colors can make you feel different emotions? Can you share a time when a color made you feel happy, calm, or excited?
  1. Color Hunt Adventure: Go on a color hunt around your home or garden! Find objects that match the colors we learned about: green, red, blue, yellow, orange, and pink. Can you find something for each color? Once you find them, arrange them in a rainbow pattern and share what you found with a friend or family member.

  2. Color Mixing Magic: Use watercolors or finger paints to mix colors and discover new ones. What happens when you mix blue and yellow? How about red and white? Try creating your own colorful masterpiece and see how many different shades you can make!

  3. Color Story Time: Imagine a story where each character is a different color. What adventures do they go on? How do their colors help them in the story? Draw a picture of your favorite scene from the story and share it with your class.
