Do you know what colors are? Colors make everything around us look bright and beautiful! Let’s talk about some fun colors today.
Red is the color of apples and fire trucks. White is like fluffy clouds in the sky. Can you think of anything else that is red or white?
Green is the color of grass and leaves on trees. Black is like the night sky. What do you see that is green or black?
Purple is the color of grapes and some pretty flowers. Blue is like the ocean and the sky. Do you have anything purple or blue?
Orange is the color of oranges and pumpkins. Brown is like the color of a bear or chocolate. Can you find something orange or brown?
Pink is the color of cotton candy and some pigs. Gray is like a rainy cloud or a cute elephant. What do you know that is pink or gray?
Yellow is like the bright sun and yummy bananas. Can you think of something that is yellow?
Now that we know so many colors, let’s play a game! Look around you and find something of each color we talked about. Can you find them all?
Colors are everywhere, and they make our world so much fun! Keep looking for colors and enjoy the beautiful things around you.
Color Hunt Adventure: Go on a color hunt around your home or classroom. Find objects that match each color mentioned in the lesson: red, white, green, black, purple, blue, orange, brown, pink, gray, and yellow. Once you find an object, share with a friend or family member why you think it matches the color. Can you find something for each color?
Color Mixing Magic: Use watercolors or colored pencils to mix colors and create new ones. What happens when you mix red and blue? How about yellow and blue? Try mixing different colors and see what new colors you can create. Draw a picture using your new colors and share it with the class.
Color Story Time: Think of a story where each character is a different color. For example, Red the apple, Blue the ocean, and Green the grass. What kind of adventure do they go on together? Draw a picture of your story and tell it to your friends or family.
