In this lesson, children explore colors through the playful concept of colorful sausages, identifying and remembering various colors as some sausages “disappear.” They also engage in physical activities that encourage movement, such as waving hands, stretching arms, stomping feet, and clapping, reinforcing the idea that learning can be enjoyable and dynamic when combined with imagination and movement.
  1. What colors did we learn about with the sausages?
  2. Can you remember which sausages are still in the pan?
  3. What fun movements did we do with our bodies?

Let’s Have Fun with Colors and Movements!

Colorful Sausages

Imagine we have 10 yummy sausages! They are all different colors. Let’s see what colors they are: blue, red, yellow, green, purple, navy, brown, pink, gray, and orange. Can you say the colors with me?

Sizzling Sausages

Now, these sausages are sizzling in a pan. Can you hear them go “sizzle, sizzle”? One by one, they start to disappear! First, the blue one goes away, then the red one, and then the yellow one. Let’s see which colors are left: green, purple, navy, brown, pink, gray, and orange. Can you remember which ones are still there?

Let’s Move and Groove!

It’s time to move our bodies! Let’s have some fun:

Move Your Hands

Wave your hands in the air like you’re saying hello to a friend!

Move Your Arms

Stretch your arms out wide like you’re giving a big hug!

Move Your Feet

Stomp your feet on the ground like you’re marching in a parade!

Clap Your Hands

Clap your hands together to make a happy sound!

Learning with Colors and Movements

Wasn’t that fun? We learned about colors and moved our bodies in exciting ways. Remember, learning can be a lot of fun when we use our imagination and get moving!

  • What is your favorite color from the sausages, and why do you like it? Can you think of other things that are the same color?
  • When you hear the sausages go “sizzle, sizzle,” what does it remind you of? Have you ever heard a similar sound before?
  • Which movement did you enjoy the most: waving, stretching, stomping, or clapping? Can you show us how you do it and tell us why you like it?
  1. Color Hunt: Go on a color hunt around your home or classroom. Can you find objects that match the colors of the sausages we talked about? Look for something blue, red, yellow, green, purple, navy, brown, pink, gray, and orange. Once you find them, share with a friend or family member what you found!

  2. Sausage Dance: Create a dance move for each color of the sausage. For example, when you hear “blue,” you can wave your hands in the air. When you hear “red,” you can stomp your feet. Practice your dance moves and then perform your colorful sausage dance for your family or friends!

  3. Memory Game: Let’s play a memory game! Close your eyes and try to remember the sausages that disappeared. Can you recall which colors were left sizzling in the pan? Now, open your eyes and check if you remembered correctly. Try this game with a friend and see who can remember the most colors!
