Lesson Activities

  1. Food Sorting Game: Gather pictures or toy models of different foods mentioned in the adventure, like hamburgers, French fries, orange juice, ice cream, donuts, bread with jam, and lollipops. Ask the children to sort these items into categories such as “Healthy Treats” and “Sweet Treats.” Discuss why some foods might be better to eat more often than others.

  2. Make Your Own Vending Machine: Provide children with cardboard boxes, markers, and paper to create their own pretend vending machines. Encourage them to draw or cut out pictures of their favorite foods to “sell” in their machines. Ask them to think about what makes each food special and how they would describe it to a friend.

  3. Food Adventure Story Time: Invite the children to create their own food adventure story. They can draw pictures or use toys to act out a story where they explore different foods. Encourage them to think about what foods they would like to try and what fun adventures they might have with them.
