Welcome to the Chicken Adventure!

Hello, friend! I’m Chloe, and I need your help. I’ve lost my five little chickens. Can you help me find them and count them? Yay! Let’s get started!

Finding the Little Chicks

Hmm, where could my chicks be hiding? Let’s look behind those bushes. Oh, look! We found one little chick! Can you see any more?

Counting the Chicks

Look over there in the grass! There’s another one. That’s two little chicks! You’re doing great!

See that faraway tree? There’s another chick hiding there. Now we have three little chickens. Awesome!

Let’s check behind that big stone. Yay! We found the fourth chick!

And look, the littlest chick is in the flower bed. We found all five little chicks!

Counting Together

Let’s count them again to make sure we have everyone. Count with me: one, two, three, four, five! Great job!

Thank you for helping me find my little chickens. Bye-bye!

  • Have you ever played a game where you had to find something that was hidden? What did you have to find, and where did you look?
  • Why do you think it was important for Chloe to find all her little chickens? Can you think of a time when you had to find something important?
  • Counting can be fun! Can you think of other things you like to count, like toys or snacks? How high can you count?
  1. Chick Hunt at Home: Ask an adult to hide five small objects (like toy chicks or any small toys) around a room. Then, go on a hunt to find them all! Once you’ve found them, count them out loud together. Can you find all five? Try hiding them again for a friend or family member to find!

  2. Draw and Count: Draw a picture of a farm with five little chicks. Use different colors for each chick. After drawing, count the chicks in your picture. Can you add more animals and count them too? How many animals do you have in total?

  3. Chick Counting Adventure: Next time you go for a walk, look for things you can count, like flowers, cars, or birds. Choose something to count and see if you can find five of them. How many different things can you find and count on your adventure?

Let’s go have a peek behind that big stone. That’s four! And the littlest chick is right in the flower bed. Great!
