Counting Balloons with Peck

Hey there! Today, we’re going to have some fun with Peck as we learn to count. Peck is excited to show us how to count up to seven using balloons. Let’s join Peck and see how it’s done!

Counting to Seven

Peck has a bunch of colorful balloons and needs our help to count them. Remember, the last number we say will tell us how many balloons there are. Let’s count together:

One, two, three, four, five, six, seven.

Great job! Peck has seven balloons for the party. Isn’t that exciting?

Spotting the Number Seven

After counting, Peck notices something special. There’s a big number seven right there! Peck can’t wait to show this to friends at the party.

Counting with Peck was so much fun, and now you know how to count to seven too. Keep practicing, and you’ll be a counting star in no time!

  • Can you think of a time when you counted something, like toys or snacks? How did it feel to know how many you had?
  • What are some other things you might see or use every day that you could practice counting? How high can you count them?
  • If you were at a party with Peck, what other fun things would you like to count? Why do you think counting is important?
  • Balloon Hunt: Go on a balloon hunt around your house or classroom. Find objects that remind you of balloons, like round fruits or colorful balls. Count them out loud with a friend or family member. Can you find up to seven? Try arranging them in different ways and count again. How does the arrangement change your counting?

  • Number Seven Art: Create a piece of art featuring the number seven. Use crayons, markers, or paint to draw seven balloons on a piece of paper. You can also use stickers or cut out shapes from colored paper. Show your artwork to someone and explain how you counted to seven.

  • Counting in Nature: Go outside and find things in nature to count, like leaves, flowers, or pebbles. Try to find seven of each item. As you count, say the numbers out loud. Can you find a group of seven things that are all the same color or shape?
