Counting Nature Walk: Take a walk outside and observe the world around you. Count the number of petals on a flower, the number of legs on an insect, or the number of leaves on a small branch. Try to find examples of things that come in ones, twos, threes, fours, and fives. Draw or take pictures of what you find and create a counting book with your discoveries!
Number Story Time: Create a short story using the numbers one to five. For example, “Once upon a time, there was one lonely apple. Then, two friendly ducks came along…” Continue the story by adding characters or objects that match each number. Share your story with your classmates or family and see if they can come up with their own number stories!
