Hey there! Do you know your numbers? Let’s have some fun and learn about them together!

Meet the Numbers

Do you remember the numbers one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, and nine? Great! Let’s see what we can do with some of these numbers.

Number Four

Look at this number. It says four. Can you say four? Good job! Now, let’s imagine four goats. These goats are sitting on four hills and eating four cans. Isn’t that funny?

Number Five

Now, let’s look at this number. It says five. Can you say five? Awesome! Imagine five feet. Each foot has five toes, and they are all wearing five sandals. That’s a lot of toes and sandals!

Number Six

Here’s another number. It says six. Can you say six? You’re doing great! Picture six monkeys. Each monkey is ringing a bell, so there are six bells ringing. Ding, ding, ding!

Counting Fun

Numbers are everywhere! You can count flowers in the garden, trees in the park, and even clouds in the sky. Counting is so much fun and very useful!

Discussion Questions

  • Can you think of something you have four of at home, like toys or books? How do you use them in your playtime?
  • Imagine you have five friends coming over for a party. What fun activities would you plan for everyone to enjoy together?
  • When you go outside, try to find six different things you can count, like cars, trees, or birds. What did you find, and how did it feel to count them?

Lesson Activities

  1. Number Hunt: Go on a number hunt around your home or classroom! Look for groups of four, five, or six items. For example, find four spoons, five books, or six crayons. Count them out loud and share what you found with a friend or family member. Can you find other numbers too?

  2. Number Art: Create a picture using numbers! Draw four goats on four hills, five feet with five toes each, or six monkeys with six bells. Use crayons or markers to make your picture colorful. Show your artwork to someone and explain the numbers you used.

  3. Counting Walk: Take a walk outside and count things you see. How many flowers can you find? How many trees are in the park? Try to find groups of four, five, or six. Share your discoveries with a friend and see if they can find different numbers!
