Welcome to the world of dinosaurs! Let’s meet some amazing dinosaurs and learn what makes each one special.

Meet the Brachiosaurus

Who am I? My back legs are shorter than my front legs. I have a long tail and a long neck. I love to munch on tree leaves. I am one of the tallest dinosaurs. I’m a Brachiosaurus!

Meet the Triceratops

Who am I? I have short legs and a thick tail. I have three horns: two big ones and one small one. I use them to protect myself. My head is very big, and I have a large frill. I’m a Triceratops!

Meet the Pteranodon

Who am I? I don’t have teeth. I have a long pointy beak and long pointy wings. I can fly high in the sky and catch fish. I’m a Pteranodon!

Meet the Ankylosaurus

Who am I? My back is covered with armor and bony plates to keep me safe. I have a bony club at the end of my tail to fight off enemies. I like to eat plants. I’m an Ankylosaurus!

Meet the Stegosaurus

Who am I? I have a spiky tail that helps me defend myself. There are lots of pointy plates on my back for protection. I have a small head and eat mostly plants. I’m a Stegosaurus!

Meet the Tyrannosaurus Rex

Who am I? I have a short tail, long back legs, short arms, and big teeth. My teeth help me eat meat. I am the fiercest of all dinosaurs. I’m a Tyrannosaurus Rex!

Explore More Stories

If you love learning about dinosaurs, there are many more fun stories to explore. Ask your grown-up to help you find more books and stories that bring dinosaurs to life. Happy exploring!

  1. Imagine you could meet one of these dinosaurs in real life. Which one would you choose to meet and why? What questions would you ask it?
  2. Think about the different features of the dinosaurs, like the Brachiosaurus’s long neck or the Triceratops’s horns. Can you think of any animals today that have similar features? How do you think these features help them?
  3. If you could have a dinosaur as a pet, which one would you choose and how would you take care of it? What would you need to keep it happy and safe?
  1. Dinosaur Detective Walk: Go on a nature walk with your grown-up and pretend you are a dinosaur detective! Look for things that remind you of the dinosaurs you learned about. Can you find something tall like a Brachiosaurus? Or maybe something with a pointy shape like the plates on a Stegosaurus? Share what you find and explain which dinosaur it reminds you of and why.

  2. Create Your Own Dinosaur: Use clay or playdough to create your own dinosaur. Think about what special features your dinosaur might have. Does it have a long neck like a Brachiosaurus or maybe a spiky tail like a Stegosaurus? Once you’ve made your dinosaur, give it a name and share what makes it special with your friends or family.

  3. Dinosaur Story Time: Imagine you are a dinosaur for a day! What would you do? Where would you go? Write a short story or draw a picture about your day as a dinosaur. Think about what you would eat, how you would move, and who your dinosaur friends might be. Share your story or picture with your class or family.
