Hello, friends! How are you today? Are you ready to hear some fun stories? Today, we have two special books to share with you. Let’s jump right in!
Once upon a time, there was a dog who loved books. He loved how they smelled and how they felt. He loved everything about them! Dog loved books so much that he decided to open his own bookshop.
Dog worked hard to get his shop ready. He unwrapped, unpacked, and stacked all the books. Finally, the big day came! Dog took a bath, dried his hair, and opened the door to welcome everyone. But guess what? No one came in!
Dog didn’t give up. He kept busy until a lady came in. She asked for tea, but Dog said, “Sorry, I only sell books!” The lady left, and Dog felt a little sad. But then, he had a great idea!
Dog picked up a book and started to read. He got lost in the story and forgot he was waiting for customers. When someone finally came in to ask for a book, Dog knew just the right one to share. Dog loved books, but most of all, he loved sharing them with others!
Now, let’s visit a magical place called Read Island. It’s a special island made of books, where friends from all over come to enjoy stories.
On Read Island, the sun shines bright, and the sea sings a gentle song. Animals like sea wolves, grizzly bears, and eagles come to listen to stories. Even a rare spirit bear visits!
Foxes, cougars, and butterflies gather around to celebrate story time. Can you imagine joining them? All you need to do is be still, breathe in and out, and listen carefully.
Books can take you anywhere! They can take you to the city, into space, or to a quiet place. They can even take you to a rainbow or the darkest sky. With a book, you can sail on a tiny boat and explore new worlds.
Read Island is a place where stories come alive. It’s always there to welcome you. Just be still, breathe, and listen for your island friends.
Wasn’t that fun? Books are so special because they can take us on amazing adventures. Do you love books too? Maybe you can share your favorite story with someone you love.
Thank you for joining us for story time. Remember to have lots of playtime and fun. Tell your family you love them lots. We’ll see you again soon. Take care and bye-bye!
Bookshop Adventure: Pretend you are like Dog and open your own bookshop at home! Gather some of your favorite books and set them up on a table or shelf. Invite your family or friends to visit your bookshop. Practice recommending books to them, just like Dog did. Ask them what kind of story they like and find a book that matches their interest. This will help you learn how to share stories and make others happy with books!
Create Your Own Read Island: Use your imagination to create a mini Read Island at home. You can use pillows, blankets, and stuffed animals to make a cozy reading spot. Invite your toys or family members to join you. Choose a book to read aloud and imagine you are on Read Island with all the animals listening to your story. Think about how the island looks and sounds. What animals would you invite to your Read Island?
Story Time Exploration: Go on a story adventure by picking a book that takes you to a new place. After reading, draw a picture of the place you visited in the story. Was it a city, a forest, or maybe even space? Share your drawing with someone and tell them about your adventure. Ask them where they would like to go if they could visit any place in a book. This will help you see how books can take us to exciting new worlds!

Welcome back to Story Time! How are you today? Have you been keeping nice and warm? Are you ready to read a book with us? Today we have “Dog Loves Books” by Louise Gates. Let’s have a look!
“Dog loves books. He loved the smell of them, and he loved the feel of them. He loved everything about them. Dog loved books so much that he decided to open his own bookshop. He unwrapped, unpacked, and stacked the books ready for the grand opening.
When the day of the grand opening finally came, Dog had a bath, dried his hair, and opened the door to greet his new customers. But there was no one there. So Dog tried to keep busy. Then a lady came into the shop and said, ‘I’ll have tea with milk and two sugars.’
‘I’m sorry,’ said Dog, ‘but this is a bookshop. I only sell books.’ The lady walked out, and Dog was alone. He waited and waited. Then a man came into the shop to ask for directions. When he left, Dog felt down-hearted, but not for long. He wouldn’t wait a moment more.
Dog fetched a book from the shelf and began to read. When he read, he forgot that he was waiting. He forgot that he was alone. When he read, he forgot that he was in a bookshop. And when one adventure ended, Dog simply took another book down from the shelf, and a new adventure began.
When a customer came into the shop to ask for a book, Dog knew exactly which ones to recommend. Dog loves books, but most of all, he loves to share them.
And that was “Dog Loves Books.” Do you love books? How much do you love books? Do you love sharing them as well? If you’d like a copy of this book, the links to purchase it are in the description below. Thanks so much for dropping by! Do give us a like and subscribe if you haven’t. We’ll see you back here soon. Today we have “Read Island” by Nicole Magistro. Let’s have a look!
“Read Island” is a place beneath the stars that welcomes friends from near and far. Just after dawn, the sun peeks through the mighty sea, making way for you.
On the cliffs and in cozy nooks, you’ll find an island made of books. The sea wolf howls hello, and the cry is like a soothing lullaby. Every creature knows that sound; they know it’s safe to come around. Each one comes here for story time, for books with pictures, prose, and rhyme.
Starfish dance and salmon rain. The raven circles his domain. A grizzly lumbers from her cave, and an eagle lands as a humpback waves. A moose sniffs at the salty air. Who comes now? A rare spirit bear! From high up in the snowy peaks, a gang of elk can hear the wolf speak, cascading downhill, young and old, quick before the tale unfolds.
Now Fox arrives with cougar, moths, and butterflies to fill the house. Joyfully they congregate, circling in to celebrate. Can you join them? Just be still, breathe in, breathe out, and listen well. Relax, observe, explore—let’s go!
Remember, this story flows from out to in, from here to there. Books can take you anywhere: to the city, into space, to a very quiet place, to a rainbow reaching high, to the deepest, darkest sky. Back to the sea where stories float, sets sail upon your tiny boat. The map inside is all you need; it brings you here each time you read.
For make-believe, though it may look, there’s an island made of books. This world of stories, safe and true, is always here to welcome you. Be still, breathe out and in again, and listen for your island friends.
And that was “Read Island.” It was quite beautiful, don’t you think? Books are so special! If you’d like to own a copy of this special book, the links are in the description below. If you haven’t, do subscribe and click on the bell for more stories like this. Give us a like or leave us a comment about your favorite book; we always love to hear from you.
Till we see you again, take care of yourself and your family. Have lots of playtime, have lots of fun, and tell your family you love them lots. We’ll see you back here soon. Take care. Bye-bye!
