Draw a Cat on the Rainbow

Hi there, little artist! Today, we’re going to have so much fun drawing a cute cat on a beautiful rainbow. Are you ready? Let’s get started!

What You Need

Before we begin, make sure you have some paper, crayons, or colored pencils. You can use any colors you like!

Let’s Draw the Rainbow

First, let’s draw a big, happy rainbow. Rainbows have lots of colors. Can you name them? There’s red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple. Draw a big curve on your paper and color each section with a different color. Wow, your rainbow looks amazing!

Time to Add the Cat

Now, let’s draw a cute cat sitting on top of the rainbow. Start by drawing a circle for the cat’s head. Then, add two pointy ears on top. Don’t forget to draw two big eyes, a little nose, and a smiling mouth. Meow!

Next, draw a round body under the head. Add four legs and a long, swishy tail. Your cat is looking great!

Color Your Cat

What color will your cat be? You can make it any color you like. Maybe it’s a pink cat or a blue cat. Use your crayons or colored pencils to color in your cat. It’s your creation, so have fun with it!

Finishing Touches

Now that your cat and rainbow are all done, you can add some extra details. Maybe draw some fluffy clouds around the rainbow or a bright sun in the sky. You can even add some little birds flying by. Your picture is a masterpiece!

Great Job!

You did an amazing job drawing a cat on the rainbow. Remember, you can always draw more pictures and use your imagination to create new things. Keep practicing and have fun with your art!

Meow meow, la la la la! Happy drawing!

  • What is your favorite color in the rainbow, and why do you like it the most? Can you think of something else that is the same color?
  • If you could have a pet cat of any color, what color would you choose and what would you name it? Why?
  • Imagine your cat on the rainbow could talk. What do you think it would say, and what adventures might it have up there?
  1. Color Hunt: Let’s go on a color hunt around your house or classroom! Can you find objects that match the colors of the rainbow? Look for something red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple. Once you find them, line them up in the order of the rainbow. This will help you remember the colors and order of a rainbow.

  2. Cat Character Story: Imagine your cat on the rainbow can talk! What would it say? Create a short story about your cat’s adventure on the rainbow. You can draw more pictures to go along with your story. Share your story with a friend or family member and see what adventures their cat might have!

  3. Weather Watch: Keep an eye on the sky for rainbows! After it rains, look outside to see if you can spot a real rainbow. If you see one, try to count how many colors you can see. You can also draw a picture of the rainbow you saw and compare it to the one you drew with your cat.
