Let’s Draw a Magical Unicorn!

Hi there, little artist! Today, we’re going to have so much fun drawing a magical unicorn. Unicorns are special, make-believe horses with a single horn on their heads. Are you ready to start? Let’s go!

What You Need

Before we begin, let’s gather our art supplies. You will need:

  • A piece of paper
  • Some crayons, markers, or colored pencils
  • A pencil and an eraser (just in case we need to fix something)

Step 1: Draw the Unicorn’s Head

First, let’s draw a big circle for the unicorn’s head. Imagine you’re drawing a happy face! Now, add two small circles inside for the eyes. Don’t forget to draw a little smile!

Step 2: Add the Unicorn’s Horn

Now, let’s draw the unicorn’s horn. It’s like a long, pointy triangle on top of the head. You can make it as tall or short as you like. Unicorns love to have sparkly horns!

Step 3: Draw the Ears

Next, let’s add two ears on top of the head, one on each side of the horn. They look like little triangles. Unicorns use their ears to listen to magical sounds!

Step 4: Create the Unicorn’s Body

Now, let’s draw the body. Draw a big oval shape connected to the head. This is where the unicorn’s tummy will be. Unicorns love to run and play, so make sure it looks strong!

Step 5: Add the Legs

Unicorns have four legs. Draw four long rectangles coming down from the body. These are the unicorn’s legs. They help the unicorn gallop through magical lands!

Step 6: Draw the Tail and Mane

Unicorns have beautiful, flowing manes and tails. Draw wavy lines coming from the top of the head for the mane and from the back for the tail. You can make them as colorful as a rainbow!

Step 7: Color Your Unicorn

Now it’s time to color your unicorn! Use your crayons, markers, or colored pencils to make your unicorn bright and colorful. You can use any colors you like. Unicorns love to be unique!

All Done!

Wow, look at your amazing unicorn! You did a fantastic job. Remember, you can always draw more unicorns and make each one special in its own way. Keep practicing, and you’ll become an even better artist!

Thanks for drawing with me today. I hope you had fun creating your magical unicorn. See you next time for more art adventures!

  • What colors did you choose for your unicorn, and why did you pick those colors? Do they remind you of anything special?
  • If you could have a magical unicorn as a pet, what adventures would you go on together? What magical places would you visit?
  • Unicorns are make-believe creatures. Can you think of other imaginary animals or creatures? What makes them special or magical to you?
  1. Unicorn Observation Walk: Take a walk outside and look for things that remind you of unicorns. Can you find something that is colorful like a unicorn’s mane? Or something that is pointy like a unicorn’s horn? Draw or describe what you find and share it with your friends or family.

  2. Create a Unicorn Story: Imagine your unicorn is going on an adventure. Where would it go? What magical things would it see? Draw a picture of your unicorn in its magical land and tell a story about its adventure. Share your story with your class or family.

  3. Unicorn Color Mixing: Use watercolors or colored pencils to mix colors and create new ones for your unicorn’s mane and tail. What happens when you mix blue and yellow? Or red and white? Experiment with different combinations and see how many new colors you can create for your unicorn.
