Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with a Fun Leprechaun Art Lesson

Introduction

Happy St. Patrick’s Day! Today, we’re going to have a fun art lesson where we draw a leprechaun. Leprechauns are magical little people from Irish stories. Let’s get our crayons and paper ready to make some art!

Materials Needed

Here’s what you need to draw your leprechaun:

  • Crayons: orange, green, black, and yellow (or gold)
  • Paper

Step 1: Draw the Leprechaun’s Head

First, take your orange crayon and draw a circle for the leprechaun’s head. It’s okay if your circle looks a bit like an oval!

Step 2: Create the Hat

Now, use the green crayon. Draw a straight line on top of the circle for the bottom of the hat. Then, draw two lines going up from the circle and connect them at the top to make a square shape for the hat.

Step 3: Draw the Body

Let’s draw the leprechaun’s body! Use the green crayon again to draw a square under the head. Start with a line for the bottom, then add two lines on the sides to finish the square.

Step 4: Add Legs and Arms

For the legs, draw two lines going down from the body. Then, draw two arms coming out from the sides of the head. You can make the arms go any way you like!

Step 5: Add Facial Features

Take the black crayon to draw the face. Make two dots for the eyes and a big smile to make your leprechaun happy!

Step 6: Draw Gold Coins

Finally, use the yellow crayon to draw some gold coins. Make little circles and color them in to show the leprechaun’s treasure.
