The lesson “Dream Big and Have Fun!” encourages children to embrace their imagination as they prepare for sleep, highlighting the joy of dreaming about various exciting roles and adventures they can aspire to. From being a superhero to a baker or an astronaut, the lesson emphasizes that every dream is special and that children are already unique just as they are. It concludes by inviting them to explore more stories, fostering a love for reading and creativity.
  1. What fun things can you dream about being when you go to sleep?
  2. How does dreaming help you think about your special talents?
  3. Can you tell me about a job or adventure you would like to have in your dreams?

Dream Big and Have Fun!

It’s time to go to bed, little one, and let your dreams take flight. Dreaming is fun anytime, but it’s extra special at night! Close your eyes and imagine all the amazing things you can be.

Be a Star or a Hero!

Maybe you’ll dream of being a movie star with your name shining bright, or a superhero flying high in the sky. You could be a doctor helping people feel better, or a beekeeper taking care of buzzing bees.

Adventures and Fun Jobs

What if you’re a brave musketeer with a shiny sword, or a surfer riding big waves? You might be an architect building a new city, or a writer creating funny stories.

Exciting and Brave Roles

Imagine being a firefighter putting out fires, or an acrobat swinging high in the air. You could be a dancer twirling on the floor, or a soccer player scoring the winning goal!

Helping and Creating

Maybe you’ll be a veterinarian helping animals, or a baker making a giant cake. You could be a teacher helping kids learn, or a skater gliding on ice.

Exploring and Discovering

Picture yourself as a police officer helping people, or an explorer finding a mysterious monster. You might be an astronaut bouncing on the moon, or a rock star singing cool tunes.

Flying and Painting

Dream of being a pilot flying high, or an artist painting beautiful pictures. You could climb tall mountains or jump from the sky as a skydiver!

Playing and Leading

Imagine being a football player winning games, or even the president of the United States! There are so many things you can dream of being, but remember, you are already very special just as you are.

Sweet Dreams!

Now, close your eyes and dream of all the wonderful things you can be. In the morning, you’ll wake up ready for a brand new day full of fun and adventure!

  • What is your favorite dream or adventure that you have imagined? Can you describe it to us?
  • If you could be any character from the article, like a superhero or an astronaut, who would you choose and why?
  • Have you ever tried something new or exciting, like the characters in the article? How did it make you feel?
  1. Dream Drawing: Grab some crayons and paper. Think about what you want to be when you grow up. Is it a superhero, a doctor, or maybe an astronaut? Draw a picture of yourself in that role. Share your drawing with your friends or family and tell them why you chose that dream job.

  2. Role Play Adventure: Choose one of the roles from the story, like a firefighter or a baker. With your friends or family, act out a day in the life of that person. What tools do they use? What tasks do they do? Use toys or household items to help you pretend. This will help you understand what different jobs are like.

  3. Dream Journal: Before going to bed, think about what you want to dream about. Write or draw your dream ideas in a special notebook. In the morning, see if you can remember your dreams and add them to your journal. This will help you explore your imagination and remember your dreams better.

Here’s a sanitized version of the provided YouTube transcript:

Go to bed, each sleepy child, and dream what dreams you might. Dreaming’s good most anytime, but especially at night. Dream you’ll be a movie star with your name lit up in lights, or that you’ll be a superhero flying around in tights.

Would you like to be a doctor saving people’s lives, or perhaps a beekeeper tending buzzing hives? What if you’re a musketeer fighting battles with your sword, or a world-class surfer catching waves upon your board? Maybe you’re an architect designing a brand new city, or are you a writer telling stories warm and witty?

You could be a brave firefighter running through a fire, or a fearless acrobat high upon a wire. A chance you’ll be a dancer leaping across the floor, or maybe a soccer star with the winning score.

How about a veterinarian curing a giant snake, or a skillful baker baking a giant cake? See yourself as a teacher helping children think, or a figure skater gliding around a rink. You’d make a fine police officer saving people in distress, or a bold explorer finding the monster of Loch Ness.

Imagine you’re an astronaut bouncing on the moon, or maybe you’re a famous rocker belting out tunes. Dream that you’re a pirate sailing oceans blue, or a brilliant scientist finding something new.

Do you wish you were a pilot soaring to great heights, or a clever artist painting the world’s great sights? Maybe you’re a mountaineer climbing to the summit, or a fearless skydiver whose job it is to jump.

You could be a football player winning games with teammates, or maybe you’re the president of the United States. This world is full of many things to dream that you can be. Just remember, you’re already the most precious thing to me.

Now close your eyes, each sleepy child, and dream what dreams you may. See you in the morning when you start a brand new day.

If you don’t have books, what are you waiting for? It’s a kid-safe, ad-free library full of storybooks brought to life. My favorite story on Books is “The Unicorn and Horse” because the horse feels like he’s not beautiful, but he actually is. I’m going to explore more on Books, and you should too. Don’t wait around—ask your grown-up and start exploring more fun stories like these. You’ll be glad you did. Thanks for watching! For more stories, try the Books app for free today.
