  • What is your favorite book or story, and can you find any sight words in it? How do these words help you understand the story better?
  • Can you think of a time when you saw one of these sight words outside of a book, like on a sign or in a game? How did it help you understand what you were seeing?
  • Why do you think it’s important to know sight words when you’re reading? How do they make reading easier or more fun for you?
  1. Sight Word Scavenger Hunt: Go on a scavenger hunt around your home or classroom to find sight words in books, magazines, or on labels. Each time you find a word, write it down on a piece of paper. How many different sight words can you find? Share your list with a friend or family member and see if they can find even more!

  2. Create a Sight Word Story: Use some of the sight words you’ve learned to create a short story. Draw pictures to go along with your story. Share your story with your classmates or family. Can you use at least five sight words in your story?

  3. Sight Word Art: Choose your favorite sight word and create a piece of art around it. You can use crayons, markers, or even collage materials. Think about what the word means and how you can show that in your art. Display your artwork in the classroom or at home to remind you of the word.
